Pretty much on spot. Two hours in and I'm bored and confused. Crap and wonky stealth does not help at all.

how come I get the same 40-60 @ 1920x1200 with these settings?
Is it because your overclocked CPU? Or the difference in resolution doesn't mean much at this point for our cards?

Haven't played much. Just got to Nassau. But I can already tell the sailing parts are gonna be awesome. It's just fun going around exploring stuff and discovering treasure maps and stuff.
Now if only the game was a bit more playable.
I even lowered the resolution to 800x600 and no FPS gain. Unfuckingbelievable. Same shit as with AC 3.
I'm tempted to just stop playing until I get a better PC, because it's doubtfull Ubisoft can do anything about the FPS at this point.

It's supposedly working fully now, yeah, all crashes/progress-halting stuff has been sorted and it saves fine - there's no DLC *yet* though, so you may want to wait if you want that.

The sailing is ruined for me because of the red zones where you are not supposed to drive through. VERY crappy concept.

That's only at the beginning of the game, it opens up after a few missions IIRC. The whole world is fully explorable.

Thats not what I had in mind. The thing is there are restricted zones like the towns early in the game in GTA so if you pass through this zone and every ship there is looking for you.

Ah, those. Those were in the game since AC2 I think, nothing stops you from exploring them, there are just patrols everywhere.

Can I play this on uplay with VPN or something if I buy it? How does it work with uplay?
Do the DLCs even matter for this one? IGN lists two and both seem to be pretty meaningless.

I don't think Uplay has any region restriction. If you have game key, simply activate it and start playing.
No idea about DLCs.

Similar to the Borgia towers from AC2.xx, if you take out the forts, those red zones go away. But, forts are hard to take out (there are dots above their icon from 1-3 that determine how hard they are: one-easy to three-hard). What's difficult is that you are trying to concentrate on taking out their particular areas via mortars and cannons while they are doing the same with you, all while trying to avoid those patrols. Best fun I've had so far in sailing. 
Btw, there are a pair of ELITE Man of Wars in the upper right corner of the map that are very difficult to take out but rumored to give good stuff if you take them out. |
I rmbr one time, trying to take out one fort, when i look to the other side, there's a man o' war and one other ship shooting at me at the same time, man that hurt
