I see no reason why there should not be.

Theres not that many companies dedicated to the space sim genre anymore, and dedicated to their products post release with new features in patches and generally adding what the community wants or demands from them on their forums.
For these reasons I'm a loyal customer and have preordered all their games thus far.
This looks like it will be an even more accessible game than the previous games, without removing any of the complexity or depth, it's not a simpler game.
But for Freelancer fans and other people who like that kind of game more than the traditional X games, this looks like the one where they can jump on board, as it were.
It should also be noted it ships with modding tools, allowing people to create practically anything. Even new flyable ships or station/ship interiors.

I'm really interested in giving this one a try and if I like it, I'll definitetly buy it. Perhaps later only, during a steam sale or something.

Tried buying this from gameladen.com yesterday, but for whatever reason - they returned the money after a couple of hours. I'm no good at german - so I don't know why.
I'd buy it from Steam - as I expect to enjoy it and I can afford it, but I'd rather find a cheaper copy somewhere.
Any suggestions?

Having everything absolutely maxed out I'm getting 20-25+ fps @ 1920x1200 when I'm in the cockpit and 40+ when I'm in other parts of the ship
I can only imagine what happens when there is a space station in sight or during space battles.

First impressions. Holy fuck. This might be the most immersive space sim yet. The travelling over long distance is incredibly fluid, you really get a feeling that you're in this universe, in your ship, that you're part of it.
Graphics are great everything from shader effects, asteroids, ships, stations, planets and stars it all looks real, everything except the facial animations they're certainly not this games strong suit.
But if you can stand playing Bethesda games then this won't be a big issue.
It's a bit demanding graphically but with my 780 I'm able to crank everything up to max at 2560x1600 4x antialiasing.

The female model is super ugly though
I don't see anything that would make this empty space (atm) so demanding.
Right in the beginning I'm getting ~20-25fps just looking around the space and doing nothing

Anyone know how to open the crash files the game creates? Game keeps crashing at 80-100% loading.

This one is strictly SP right? I won't like it if I find out I have to be sociable and blabla after I buy it. Just asking to be sure, afaik it's SP only.
