Yeah, the server stuff we don't know all details about yet. The thing is, from the start they've been talking about private servers (and mods on those servers). It can't be private nor moddable if it's still subject to the main stuff

Nope, sorry. The fanboys ARE discouraging because they're just nasty and blinkered. Why would anyone willingly put themselves in a situation where if they disagree with an aspect of the game, they'll be ripped apart by several hundred fanatics? Shit no. Besides, if a hundred people dislike the cash shop but a hundred thousand don't... what do you think is going to happen? The opinions of the minority aren't considered by RSI, or any developer really, which is both the right thing to and also the wrong thing. There's no easy answer.
I know they are, yet I bet with some concerns that people have that they are with more like minded than they think. It's usually just a pool of 100 nasty people over there keeping away maybe hundreds or thousands.
The fact that the buy a character slot wasn't addressed by anyone on the forum was surprising for me. No it wasn't a concern for me and I explained it was because I was expecting it to be 1 character game. That it's not, annoys me more than you get to pay for them actually. But yeh I expected more than everyone patting on the back of RSI.
The least a minority can do is put a thought in some of the people over there. I admit I am a bit naive in thinking that giving a different view makes people approach things differently(now or in the future).
Like I said before, I'm just being pessimistic A good end result is all the sweeter for me then, as opposed to being full of hope and optimism only to be crushed.

You're not the only one. And i'm happy to note that Chris Roberts is one of them. SQ42 is not a throwaway campaign for him. He wants the single player campaign to be a AAA-game by itself nevermind that there is an multiplayer part of the experience called Star Citizen, that comes afterwards.
The only reason they haven't talked about it much from CGIs side is because they don't want to spoil the storyline. And also they probably needed to build up some basic building blocks before they could really get going with the campaign (like the scipt, that isn't finished yet)

Agreed... only one niggle I have, is the lock-on reticle... does it REALLY have to be so in your face?? Might look pretty, but all those flashing lines and arrows and pulsing... that's just useless eyecandy.
