Don't bother explaining it KC. I haven't watched Twin Peaks, but I still love this game. The whole 80's cheesy campy nostalgic feeling and references is enough to welcome it with open arms. Wink

Anyway, I hope the developers better incorporate the X360 controller implementation quickly. Can't wait to sit back and enjoy this on the big screen. I hate playing it with mouse and keyboard. Sad

Is this game horror-like as in a dark seed 1/2 style? Or Sanitarium? As in a twisted world, weird stuff in it maybe parallel universe etc?

Cause then i'd be interested as fuck...

But if it's like resident evil type of horror then i won't even touch it.

Cheers

Latest DPFix by Durante and I recommend waiting for official patch that will add native controller support.

It switches between Alan Wake-during-daytime gameplay with lots of talking and doing things and Silent-Hill-like surroundings where you do not know wtf is going on.
Overall,it`s more like Silent Hill

I think the gameplay is between "meh","solid" and "godawful"(like the running-away scene inside the lumbermill, boy did i curse). The cutscenes are good story&narrative wise but the animations and some of the voiceovers remind me of House of the Dead 1+2.Not all of them but still

DPfix is open source Smile 0.8 works for Duranted but not for a lot of others so he's opened up development to the community in the hopes of being able to track down the issues, that and he's busy this week and won't have time to work on DPfix.

I finally decided to get around to playing this.... and then gave up. The controls are terrible but that's something I could get used to, what I cannot - and will not, ever - get used to is waiting 50-200 seconds for the goddamn MAP to open. That is disgusting, absolutely disgusting and the game should never have been released in this state.

If you play in fullscreen you can press ALT to pause the game. Pausing the game for a second while the menu/map is loading opens it right away.

Thank you for the tip, but I'm done. I'll go back to this in a year or two, if ever, to see if it's fixed. It's just ridiculous to ship something in this state, it's bad enough needing Durante to fix all the broken visual shit that should have never been an issue, but when you have massive game faults like loading times, crashes, broken joypad support (in a game BUILT for joypads), it's just... Facepalm

Shadows of the damned played rather straight but art design, story and humor were great

I didn't see it mentioned, 0.91 is out fixing the problems that some users had with 0.80 and adding some new options, now it's time to enjoy the game for what it is. Razz

I'm almost 30 hours into the game now with just a handful of side quests remaining and more than half of the main campaign still to go. Very Happy

Wish the developers would hurry the fuck up with the controller patch. Sad

Version 1.01
Quote:
- Added full controller support for game.
- Added controller selector to launcher (note: controller button in launcher must be selected for controllers to work in-game).
- Enabled game to use multiple processor cores. This should improve performance and loading times on computers with multi-core processors.
- Fixed case where "All Achievements Unlocked" achievement was not unlocking for players. Players who have met the conditions will also now be awarded the achievement when they load their saved game.
- Alt button no longer pauses game.
- Fixed looping sound error when player stopped moving after stamina bar was full.
- Fixed case where car speedometers were being erratic on some computers.
- Decreased recovery time during a final event in the game. Players should find it easier to run and dodge now.
- Bug/crash fixes.

Thanks for your patience and support.
