Yup sure is, if you are used of MMO's it really feels like playing on your own private server. I stopped playing after 15 hours or so and went back to my MMO's. It's not a bad game, but yeh when you play an MMO you rather go back to that.

Still want to give it a try again some day. Have no mmo subscriptions running for a year and stopped playing GW2 for a while now so maybe I can finish it now.

The game definitely has an MMO feel (which is why the world is so damned huge and completionists will be playing 100++ hours) but I really enjoyed the combat, it felt like Fable Smile

I really think if they got Copernicus off the ground it would have been successful judging it on what they had with Amalur. Very few MMO's out there with the polish of Blizzard and Amalur came close to that (at least miles closer than most MMO's out there ). Plus I thought they had an interesting world going on.

Couldn't agree more Smile Even in single player, Amalur felt better than most any other MMO I'd played - and the world is enormous, so you can imagine how it would feel questing with people. It honestly felt like what Fable would be if Fable were an MMO.

Way too many copy paste dungeons, but I liked the overworld areas and the combat system.

How so?

Maybe I should play it afterall

well, with the mod, you won't be able to go everywhere until you grow stronger, in that way it plays like gothic. but on the other hand, it has lots of action and looting and generic sidequest to go along with lots of good side quests and books to read.

I dunno how mmo rpg's are these days, but combat in amalur is better then most games, and miles ahead of any mmo i've played.

I've been thinking of giving this another go.

What would I need to download in order for me to get the most complete experience?

I tried this but the graphics and animations were ridiculous. I played a little, smashed some barrels and was like --> NOPE.

Felt like a generic RPG from 10 years ago.

@LukeDW

I'm also preparing for another run... The order should be>

Kingdoms.of.Amalur.Reckoning-SKIDROW
Kingdoms.of.Amalur.Reckoning.Legend.of.Dead.Kel.DLC-SKIDROW
Kingdoms.of.Amalur.Reckoning.Teeth.of.Naros.DLC-SKIDROW

and supposedly, install the patch onto it all even though it was released before DLCs...
Kingdoms.of.Amalur.Reckoning.v1.0.0.2.Update-SKIDROW

But, I'll just try install the DLCs onto the game and check it out before applying the patch (i'm assuming the DLCs come with patch included).

*edit
Actually, I just compared the contents for the crack folder - and filesizes of all the files for both the patch a and 2nd DLC are the same.

Kingdoms of Amalur is one of those games that give you this first impression: (because of the very slow start, not-so-sexy visuals and "cheap" style)
Then you start playing and you slowly Everything Went Better Than Expected and after several hours you're like Me Gusta

I used just the heartcore mod don't forget to read up before installing it. I used the mod, without the speed increase in my playthrough, and I modded the mod
 Spoiler:

to speed up mana regen, and I never used the OP faith attack in game.

Get ready to die a lot until you level up and get good Smile

After putting in 120 hours and getting about 50% into the game, I give up. I'll admit that I was a little too ocd with it, and it was dragging on and on. On to dark souls.

I finished this game long ago but don't think it took me more than 70 hours. Haven't played the DLC's tho. Maybe they add lots of extra time? Is there a playtime stat in the game? I still keep my save.

It's a massive game for completion it's that do all the side quests/etc, if you're just playing through as normal then yeah, 70hrs is enough to finish it Smile

The DLC were massive. I finished Teeth of Naros and made my way to Dead Kel. Once I got to the main map I realized it was going to add alot of time before I got back to the main quest, I said screw it.

110 hours for me without having played the DLC. I would have played the DLC but the level cap was a killer for me.

That's very true. Razz It was a weird decision to not raise the cap to 60 at least (since you reach the max level definitely early if you take things slowly). Haven't played the additional contents either, but I'm planning to when I'll have some time. The game is huge indeed, so that will have to wait a bit.

Mine can be found under C:\Users\Yourname\Documents\My Games\Reckoning along with the personal.ini and scalability.ini files (in case you want to do a windows search Razz)

Damn Sad. Both the Theta release and the Origin one are under the same path as far as I know (the My Games one). Though if you're using the Skidrow release, they're in C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Local\SKIDROW\102500\storage

The files have all the .sav extension, and a file called "profiles.manifest" should be in there too. A windows search should locate them, unless they've disappeared for no reason (I hope not!)

Ehh, so something really is buggy for me.

I wanted to start the game, so downloaded those cheat tables to up the difficulty for CheatEngine.
I activated the ones that say you should activate. But i am not able to kill the first two enemies (those rats). I get experience when i "kill" them, but they still run around and attack me, wtf.

I play it on german, but doubt that it bugs as the memory tables should always be the same? Sad

Are the Cheat-Engine memory tables for the correct game version?

If it's for a older version it can cause bugs, or it might be known issues with said table.
(I think that particular one is made for version 1.0 though, not 1.0.3 or what the last patch was.)

EDIT: Also original exe or a cracked exe can make the table (or a trainer) break as well since the data will differ.
(Latest Cheat-Engine has some improvements for this but these tables would have been made from a older version of the program.)
