on the campaign map maybe. But in the battle, it's quite the stutter galore at 30 fps with so much stuff moving around.

Nope. Though there's one particular scenario where there's still stuttering @30 fps (or even more). Battles around walled cities.

I see no big fluctuations now after all the performance patches. If completely maxed out, it's constantly between 30 and 35 during battles. if I run the benchmark I get an average of 39. After some tweaking of shadows and unit details I can get 47-48 average. But I rather use the battles as reference.

Hahahah, yeah I guess their first version of the "hold formation" fix will need quite a few revisions Laughing Anyway, the guy still aknowledges all the improvements, and gameplay fixes just started to arrive with patch 6, so there's still more to come Smile

No idea. All i know is that, like 4treyu said, there's still more to come. Which, translated for me, it means that there's still more to wait Razz

Runs much better now, especially if you start cranking graphics settings up. There's still one particular situation where there's still some problems apparently, and that's during the siege of walled cities.

@Vikerness Indeed there's still more to wait but that's mostly for gameplay fixes since patch 6. The first 5 patches were focused in performance.

Sega and CA can go and fuck themselves... seriously...

This is insulting... so many things that aren't in the actual game etc... I don't even know what to say. I'd rather like to punch one of them in the face until my money drops out of him.

Creative Assembly, give me back my Euros.

To me that just looks like a historical re-telling using in-engine assets, nothing that would be in-game in the shipped build.

Kinda like the various CGI trailers some large budget games have showing events and such that aren't in the actual game. Smile

Would of course have been nicer with it included but it's just a trailer and made for marketing purposes.
(I've not really noticed it much before but it's interesting to compare and see just how different initial footage for a game is compared to the shipped product, Ryse on the XBox1 for example or AC4: Black Flag to name two I checked on recently.)

Uhm, I'm actually pissed about them wasting resources on this kind of stuff instead of investing them in the actual game. I'm pissed that they create these cinematics for this unnecessary stuff but not for the game itself. I'm pissed that there are units in it that aren't in the game (keep in mind that there are units in the actual game's intro that aren't in the game itself either!). I could go on and on. This just placed itself next to all the other bullshit they pulled prior and post release. And here I thought they were done with that after the truth came out. But nope, they have the actual balls to keep it rolling. I wonder what will be next?

Oh I misunderstood then, that's completely different from what I thought. Smile

Though luckily Sega and Creative Ensemble have been working on fixing bugs and other issues although of course with some DLC release in-between, mods are probably needed to truly change the gameplay systems so it's nice to see that they are a bit more open or supportive with modifications as well even if it's not a full SDK. Smile

EDIT: Of course both the developer and publisher must have known about many of these issues when the game shipped (Kinda hard to miss.) but unfortunately this is becoming more of a common thing lately, force the game out on a set release date and if possible patch up the most severe issues afterwards or just switch focus to DLC.
(And sack the developer studio if it doesn't work out as intended, heh unfortunate but it's a big industry now, more corporate or how to say.)

Pretty pissed off with this latest patch because it broke coop campaign. After only a couple turns the game will de-sync now. The AI is *MUCH* better with patch 6, but at least patch 5 didn't have these desync issues.

I would say: not yet. You could probably get it for the same price (if not lower) in 3-5 months when the game will be much better because of the incoming patches.

Sega confirmed that Caesar in Gaul will offer a campaign of expanded maps across 18 provinces spanning Gaul and the South coast of Britannia. It’ll offer four factions, namely, Gallic Arverni, the Germanic Suebi, the Belgic Nervii and Rome.

The campaign takes place between 58-51 BC, meaning it is shorter than most. As a result, players will engage in 24 turns per year, and seasons, which change the environment and weather effects.

“We’ve released a number of DLC packs and free content updates for ROME II, but this is our most substantial so far”, said Mike Simpson, creative director of the Total War series. “We’ve always planned to focus more closely on some of the key conflicts of the ancient world, and Caesar’s war in Gaul is the ideal place to start. We’ve also improved the game considerably since launch, and that process continues as we move onto substantial feature and gameplay improvements”.

Total War: Rome 2: Caesar in Gaul is out December 12th 2013 for $14.99/£9.99/€14.99.

I was kinda hoping they would fix design flaws and finish up the main campaign and roman council and stuff like that. complete the unfinished features...

but a new mini campaign? no thanks.
nobody asked for this shit.

also why do they keep adding seasons to every game (shogun 2 had it on launch I think?) after the fact and act as if it's new and exciting?
