So I picked up this game during the sale for $4.99 and...holy crap is it ever fun. I was up till 3 am cause I just had to go at it one more time..and one more time..and fuck it one more!
I started on easy..got to the last ship twice, couldn't beat it...changed to normal, not getting anywhere close to the last sector let alone the flagship. Fun.

New race - new ship, C layout for old ships, new drones, new manned subsystems (doors, sensors), new subsystem (backup battery) few other things. And this list is obviously not complete (new weapons, new sector)

Don't worry bud, it's all completely normal. At least you actually managed to finish it on easy  (@DR& Sabin: exactly!)
I'm pretty sure Normal here is the equivalent of any other game's Nightmare mode
Hard probably equals to "please stay still, don't even try to escape and prepare your body for the anal probation"  |

This is a hard game but really, once you crack the code and know what to buy etc it gets close to easy. I am looking forward to a new challenge on hard!

Are you willing to give me some hints? On weapons, crew and so on? I came twice to the very end, to the last boss, but i couldn't defeat him  And that was on easy |
Think there is lots of hints (maybe also by me) earlier in this thread.
Havent played it since around the release. And dont know what patches have fixed/balanced. But there is a laser that shots twice that is very op. You want your weapons to just pound away at your enemy (I preferred lasers).The variant ship of your starting ship is very strong btw.
Crew wise I liked the energy dudes and the repair dudes. With a mantis or stone thingy for those boardings.
Your strategy can be loads of things, but the boss ship is the same each time, so really you should suit your ship for fighting it (like having 4 mantis and a teleport is very op untill boss ship, but it requires some finesse to win against the boss ship with that setup if your not certain in your actions or knows what happens).
The boss ship stage is 3 fold, so make sure you can win against all 3 stages (watch a video to be sure what your up against if needed).
But really as ive said before in this thread, once you have mastered this game there is little fun left - so the fun you have now, is where its at.
