Microsoft owned Bungie or at least had a long partnership contract with them and produced the Halo series, I believe Bunglie left a while ago to work on other projects (Other studios picked up with Halo 4 and so on.) and currently they are doing a next-gen game for Activision.
(Or several games actually, I believe it was more than one at least.)
EDIT: Though I was under the impression that Bungie favored the Mac initially with the Myth series for example or Marathon though they were released on PC later on.
(And then with Halo MS targeted the XBox and then X360, however GfW LIVE and Vista didn't work out very well so after Halo 2 things kinda stopped for PC releases from Microsoft or something like that, I don't know the full details.)

So I have the Vampire Overhaul mod and it has improved the Vampire Drain spell, how can I improve it by leveling ? (It says it's a novice spell, does that matter ?)
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
don't even remind me.
Morrowind is a game i've spent most hours (months) of playtime in my life. I knew every corner and placement of like every item.
its like last game with STATIC world. now every game levels with You... and then even thiefs walk in ebony or glass armors

Yeah, i know the bloody feeling. Played probably all the PC Elder Scrolls: Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Redguard and Battlespire.
But for some reason, Morrowind felt so damn different, so epic. Had factions with agendas so different, politics were so damn well implemented, the lore was so overwhelming for one game. Spent tons of hours reading the damn books and i still can't claim that i know the lore in Morrowind. Loved the damn game.
That video doesn't remind me of any good memories, for the simple reason that I haven't played Morrowind. But I want to! I understand it's superior to both Oblivion and Skyrim (except for graphics of course), and that video certainly is beaitiful and makes me want to play it!
We can't expect a release till 2016 though, right?

Morrowind with MGE XE actually has some features not even Skyrim has, like grass that reacts when you walk through it and under water caustics, trees doesnt have ugly 2D LOD's so they look way better in the distance. Though obviously it is also missing many graphical features that makes Skyrim look slightly better.
Morrowind was very mystical and had much more varied areas/cultures to visit which made travelling very exciting and epic. That's it's strength over the others imo. Oblivion was some kind of attempt to make TES look very LOTR-like (because of the LOTR movie releases at that time i bet), they decided to changed the lore completely (this area is in fact supposed to be a jungle).
I've always wanted to try Morrowind, but tbh, even though I hate myself for it, yes, the ancient graphics are putting me off. If they ever finish Skywind I'll definitely play!

Same here. Same goes for System Shock 2.
Guess it only works when you actually played the game at the time.
SS2 graphics holds up really nicely, much better than Thief1-2.. Especially since it takes place on a really sterile spaceship, it doesnt require tons of polys too look believable.. Lightning is pretty ok too now with NewDark and relightning.
Yeah in the end all the advanced shaders and polygons don't mean much when games have such a fantastic atmosphere, and both SS2 and Morrowind are fine examples.
I don't dislike the idea of remaking games 1:1 using different and more evolved engines, but sometimes the original feel gets lost. That's why I always prefer to use mods instead (like in SS2 with the various "subtle" replacements), or even overhauls as long as are 100% faithful to the original style and don't alter the gameplay mechanics.
The MGSO 3 like Arukardo mentioned is one of them in my opinion, it greatly enhances the visuals without making it look like a different game entirely. In most of the cases the gameplay is perfect as it is, so no big changes are needed.
Just my 2 cents: I loved Morrowind and could perhaps still endure the dated gfx even today (not to mention playing with the gfx upgrade mod), BUT: let's be honest here, the melee combat was absolutely horrendous. That's what puts me off from re-playing it and that's why I hope it gets ported to the Skyrim engine: for the sake of better melee combat (and better game mechanics overall -- no, I don't mean the dragon shouts or the level scaling, they suck). of course, melee combat in Skyrim is still a far cry from being perfect, but it's definitely a huge improvement over the mindless mouse button mashing in Morrowind.

Combat is indeed very archaic, that is undeniable. You either tolerate it or despise it, especially today. I think it still works quite well all things considered but I understand that the lack of proper feedback/ragdolls and dynamicity are aspects that can make the experience somehow 'obsolete' for many people. This is probably the #1 reason why I'm interested in this project, assuming that they don't fuck up the remaining 80% of the game of course.
At the time I didn't play morrowind and the gfx wouldn't put me off either, but wtf, it has worse combat than skyrim? How is that even possible? Is it as bad as gothic 3's vanilla combat?
Haha yeah, let's say it's similar to Skyrim, only even less dynamic/involving. Simple clicking job. The game itself is considerably deeper though in pretty much every single aspect; and as much as I love Skyrim, it's almost like a hiking simulator if compared to Morrowind.
And let us not forget that there's no active block (it was introduced in Oblivion for the first time in the TES series), which also makes combat less fun. (Blocking is completely dependent on your Block skill, which determines how often your character blocks attacks.)
BTW, anyone play Wyrmstooth? I see it has custom voice actors, and from the videos on the tubes, they don't sound bad actually. None of that giorman accented attempt and shakespearean English we see so often.
