Group combat on nightmare diff is pretty fun. You have to mix your builds together as a team, and you have to move a lot.

The combat itself is the weakest part of the game, if only it were as deep as deck building...

is it possible to play this game soloing? well at least in the begining.... Is it possible to gather gear by playing alone or you need to team up constantly?

and maybe someone has spare trial left? Wink i'd be very thankful... don't want to buy a game blindlesly.

i did like gameplay videos, but almost all of them were in teams fighting some uber npc and i wonder if it is possible to clear areas not rushing them but using ur skill set?

I wouldn't called it polished. Play some more there are some minor but irritating bugs with few major one here and there like quest bosses not spawning or other players bugging your quests.
Also it can run terribly bad on high end PC. Yesterday I have joined a battle against seasonal boss and got 20 fps on i7-4770K, 8GB of RAM and 7850. LOL

Also mighty pissing is the fact that some quest can be completed with other players that are doing the same quest but are not in the party with you and some can't and you can not be certain when it's happening.

Plus it might have an issue with AMD graphics.

Nevertheless fucking LOVE this game.

On the topic of combat - well it depends on the weapon and skills you are using, some weapons are fun have certain flow to them like pistols and swords and some are not like rifle (because you basicly stand still using skills).

Is Massive Edition worth it? Are these DLCs or?

Thanks!

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Yeah they are DLC or rather mission packs for existing locations plus they suppose to move the story forward or something. I'm not far into the game, sorry.

They are expansion packs.
Each is a series of quests. You get a new auxiliary weapon from some, plus a starting blue/purple ql10 item.

You'll be bored of base game soon enough to realise no expansion for this is worth playing. Save your cash Wink

The trick is to do ONLY quests - don't grind enemies, don't go out of your way to kill enemies. No - avoid them, stick to the quests and you won't tire of combat that fast. The quests, cut scenes and settings are all top notch and are often brilliant. For example, Tuvok (Star Trek) being one of the Men In Black voice actors and making a Star Trek reference was just brilliant and the game is full of funny quips like that.

Seriously, this game has the most entertaining quests by far of all MMOs I've played BUT the combat suffers from having too few skills that are worthwhile. The idea of mixing different skills according to your own play style is good, but there aren't enough skills and the skills you get later on, aren't really better meaning that you'll quickly earn the top skills you'll use until the end of the game if you stick with the same two weapons.

Having said that, the idea is that you try different weapons and add variety that way. The combat itself is quite dynamic too depending on the weapons you picked - if they went the Tabula Rasa road of manually hitting and aiming, I'd have enjoyed it more though. Locking on to enemies just isn't as fun as going for headshots.

It's not that bad by far - but the game is huge and if you want to play it a lot and not get bored, the best way is to keep combat to a minimum.

Heck, there aren't many MMOs that let you keep combat to a minimum because you have to grind and grind which is not the case in TSW so that's a good thing. WoW, for example, was such a shitty game in how it forced you to grind because once you completed all quests, you still had to grind for several hours before you leveled up far enough to get to the next zone. They later tweaked this I heard, but still.

The game just freezes on loading screen with no loading bars... Almost every time. Even if it actually loads, it will stuck on the next loading zone. did everything i can imagine.., admin rights, ports, re installs/repair, firewall/antivirus off, update drivers..

Anyone had such problems ?

Yup, same problems - with more luck though.

I switched to test server, it was how I managed to get through ads and to main menu for the first time (not sure if I used "repair" option earlier or afterwards - but I did); after that I switched back to Live.

At that point I could crawl through choppy movies, but it was taking a *while*. Tried to figure out why, but decided to use "no intro movies" ad instead (http://forums.thesecretworld.com/showthread.php?t=40931). Game still takes a bit too long to launch for my taste, but it loads and then works without issues. Well, aside from my 5850 suddenly switching into "hear me roar!" mode for no particular reason.

well those investigation missions are really brain bending and i'm quite sure that no one could complete them without googling... But this game encourages to use every help u can get from outside. That's why they implemented web browser ingame. Actually u can look up sites where everything is solved and showed for you, but there are some certain webs where you can get just small hints so they could help you to solve whole quest. But nonetheless quests in this game are just awesome. It is absolutely the best part of this mmorpg. Actually combat is fun too despite it being simple. Oh and deck building ... So Much Win

absolutely love this game and would recommend to anyone
