hi,
i got a simple ... and maybe stupid question ....
how can i win the first mission (i think its called 'breakout') ?
i defend my town for more than 1 hour ....
but the enemy always sends reinforcements .... i even cant produce soldiers that fast .....
i play on "easy" .....
is this a bug ?
anyone else got this problem ?

send a couple of villagers to light the signal fire (by collecting wood round it)
also send some soldiers toprotect them

yillo9 - I can't finish it either. I think there is still some protection in the game that the crack hasn't countered. After lighting the signal and defeating the canons, it just carries on. I couldn't end tutorial 2 either.

WTF there is no mouse pointer in main menu of this game for me! Anybody know how to fix this?

plays and looks good on a radeon mobile 7500, low settings.
I'll try it on my desktop, it's got a lot more oomph.
I couldn't finish those missions after a few replays on different difficulty levels. I tried a reinstall too. Now I can use the desktop I'll try it there.

I played skirmish for 2+ hours with the same card and sp1 with no issue. Use the link I posted above to make sure you got the latest drivers. Never hurts to check. |
I had to download those "creative beta drivers" for the Audigy2ZS. The stupid slightly older ones couldn't uninstall for some reason "software doesn't support web update"  Seems assinine as the beta ones installed fine.
I had to correct a prob with my 7.1 speaker system and will also try disabling Nod32 anti-virus and dropping Sound Hardware acceleration via DxDiag.exe. Never ever had a sound problem in my life. Quite bizzare.. Thanks Tech!

yup as I figured. Really whats the point of making huge graphical and physic improvements to an RTS when they totally ruin the gameplay? Yea I'm kinda jealous that I don't have an uber rig to run at high detail, but running it on low makes it look just like AoE2...so what's the point? The gameplay in this one is just...atrotious. Doesn't help that I HATE the subject matter. I hate the timeline they chose. Colonial Era america. BLECH!
The interface is just ugly, even minimized. The home city idea is just goofy. Half the crap they added are rip-off from other RTS'. Treasures a la Warcraft 3 (hey guys, lets go creeping for bears!) Military drag select from RoN (albeit RoN made this feature fecking awesome). Leader selects at age up (again from RoN:TaP).
This is a crap game. Yea I'm biased. I've hated it even before it was released. I hated it as soon as ES anounced the timeline. Want to play a good RTS, go play anything else.

Okay I tryed it with my AC'97 instead of my SBLIVE! and it still has the same problem, the last word of every paragraph they speak gets cutoff. What drivers are you using for it and where did you get them? I have a Asus MB and I got mine from Asus website, I dont understand why it would do it with my SbLive! and my AC'97, very buggy. So you guys are saying it doesn't do this to you, cutoff the last word of a paragraph??

Use the realtek AC97 drivers, they rock. Even if you dont have a realtek audio chipset (I have a c-media for example), they will still work, that's the beauty with AC97.

No no cutoff here.
Btw, the game runs absolutley brilliant for me in 1024x768 and with everything on as high as it goes (including AA) except shadows . A system like mine is just too poor for shadows in this game in combination with good detail, so I choose to just put the shadows on low and everything else on high. I do miss the shadows though, but hey, I can live without them.
My system is an xp1700@2142mhz(204x10.5), 640mb ram and a 9800pro running at 413/378 and cat 5.9, so it's no power house but still runs the game great.

Anyone here knows how to make 1 dvd from those 3 cd's?
I tried to extract all 3 images to one dir, and made a iso from that those file, but that didnt work.

Isnt working.
Btw, how can i resume a game after i saved it?
When im loading the game its says: game paused, i dont know what the button is to "unpause" it.

My System:
CPU : AMD "Barton" 2500+.
Memory : 768MB DDR PC2100.
GFX : Nvidia 6600GT DDR3 128MB , AGPx8
