Hobbit : Desolation of Smaug
8/10 Great !
Although:
1. A bit too long.
2. Did anyone find evangeline's lily performance to suck dick ?
3. The forced Tauriel <3 Dwarf love thing... yuuck.
4. spoiler (major PJs fuckup) Spoiler: | The added dwarfs fight with the dragon denies the use of two things that make the book:
- Burglar, hence the main character itself.
- The Use of secret door.
|
I have a storyline question though:
Spoiler: |
1. Why the fuck Gandalf went to some tombs in the mountains (i understand that these were the nazgul tombs?) ? To find something out ? What ? How did he get the idea to go to Gol Gurdur.
2. Why did he summon Radagast ? I'm guessing it's Peter jacksons way of letting people know what's happening - so gandalf has someone to speak to.

G.I. Joe Retaliation 5/10
Blargh, way too many subpar movies out there The forced drama/bro love in this movie was ridiculous. And a lot of derp moments. Really thought I'd just get action out of Joe film but nope :/ (have seen way worse this year so therefor still a 5)

I have that one in my backlog, but after having seen two Iron Men, one Wolvermen and one Supermen in a row, I definitely need a break. A two year long break xD

Spoiler: | In the books Gandalf doesn't go to the tombs, in fact there is no mention where the tombs are (The High Fells of Rhudaur). It serves to guide the plot to Dol Guldur. In the books he did go to Dol Guldur since it was the fortress of Sauron (actually he got the key from Thorins father who was captured in Dol Guldur the first time he went there), but again wasn't captured or anything like that. And Radagast is used to summon Galadriel who will (hopefully in the next movie) destroy Dol Guldur. In the books Gandalf isn't captured, so Radagast doesn't have to go to Galadriel... |

Olympus has fallen 4/10
Looked like one of those SyFy productions. Very bad CGI and full of derp moments. Didn't expect anything else tho. Was warned enough about this one

Die Hard - 9 / 10 - No further comments needed. This is how you make an action movie.
Yes, yes I'm back.

constantine
havent watched it in YEARS, so decided to watch it again. pity it gets so much hate, i quite enjoyed it, even though its plot is a tad wacky and has a few holes and inconsistancies (but hey... thats religion for ya, ), but i found it to be generally an enjoyable fantasy action thriller.
6.5/10

The Great Gatsby - 8/10
Didn't see this coming. As someone who hasn't read the novel and couldn't care less about the inaccuracies, I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. It was excessive in pretty much everything, from the over-the-top style (modern pop culture merged into the 20s, including the music..which I strangely wouldn't consider unfitting) to the cinematography itself (basically HDR - The movie), but I found the final result fascinating and unique.
The acting was very solid as well, with Di Caprio who never disappoints, and Carey Mulligan.. *gusta*. Joel Edgerton and Spidey were great and believable too. The unconventional pace and the fact that the whole movie revolves around a love story can scare some people away, especially in the first hour, but then it becomes so involving that it's hard to remain detached. Worth to give it a shot, old sports!

hey hey, it's one thing to answer about this movie, but please don't spoil what's going to happen or supposed to happen in the next.

Lone Survivor 7/10
Spoiler: | If this movie is based on true events then it's simply unbelievable that choppers full of elite soldiers flew over the hot LZ without air support. |

About Lone Survivor
Spoiler: |
That part where they roll down a hill, twice and hit every rock, tree and branch along the way looked so fucking painful, I felt so bad for the stunt folks who had the "pleasure" of performing those stunts.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Spoiler: | Yea, looks like Navy Seals are indestructible in real life. They can drop from the top of the mountain and survive, they can survive multiple gunshots in the head, chest, legs, arms and being stabbed, walk with broken legs. |

No kidding, I watched that part and thought "How the hell did they not end up a pile of broken bones and and bloody chunks?"
One of them even hit his head several times and should have been dead or unconscious.
They plummeted downhill faster than Taylor Kitsch's bankability after John Carter.
