Don't hate... it looks fun. I can see why the CoD comparison, but still.... it looks really fun. Doesn't have to be amazing. Sometimes you just want to hop into a game, and mindlessly kill everything. This... I will be doing for sure.

Can anyone actually recommend a Titan purely for gaming?

I'm no hardware expert, but going by benchmarks there are other cards that cost way less that match, and in some cases surpass the Titan.

Was it even launched as a gaming GPU or did it sort of shift towards gaming when people with more money than common sense started buying them for gaming?

When it was launched, it was the fastest GPU you could buy for gaming. It wasn't nearly as fast as what its cost would suggest, but fast it was nonetheless.
It was a useless product from a value proposition back then, but now with newer GPUs released, it's a useless product period. At least for gaming.

Vince is right - we tried a huge amount of playercounts (all the way down to 1v1 and up quite high) and designed the maps, gameplay mechanics, and entire experience around which played best. If anyone wants to chase the numbers game, perhaps we're not the experience they're after? I dunno.

And FYI, for amount of stuff happening at once in a map you'll be hard pressed to find a game that keeps the action higher. I literally have to stop playing every few rounds because my heart just can't take it some times. Remember, you can get out of your Titan and let it roam on AI mode - meaning there can be 12 Pilots wallrunning around, 12 Titans stomping below, and dozens of AI doing their thing.

Oh, and I keep seeing people thinking we've got "bots" when we talk about AI. Thats not how they are. The AI in Titanfall are not replacements for human players. Our playercount is not 6v6 because of AI - AI play their own role in the game and are a different class of character in the game.

Can't wait! Only a couple months until speculative threads like this are gone and people are actually talking about their experiences with the game. Its truly fun stuff, and I hope everyone at least gives it a try.

It's a console limitation obviously. We've all been reading PR for years and we can read between the lines.
And retarded as they are they'll force the PC version the same numbers just so no one will suspect the Xbox One is a crappy piece of hardware. 'Cause that's how they roll.

So what we're gonna get is a scripted coop-vs-coop game? Shame, because I thought it looked like great fun, but now? :s

Handle what? 1080p, 60fps, 64 players? 720p, 30fps, 12p?
What do you think the XBO can handle with the power of the cloud supporting physics and AI?

Ah, yes, the old "our vision becomes tainted when we add more players". Works every time.

Titanfall was always presented as a singleplayer/multiplayer hybrid, with "ai players".

I think they aim to make a noob friendly game, so players of every skill level can feel competitive.
