mosin ... get that with the short and cz550 hunters scope and ur good
that hunters scope is nuts as u can still zoom in twice with that one, also if you first go to sight then hit + on number pad 3 times it zooms in further, then hold mouse right down further even again LOL :O

I'm getting piss poor performance, I've turned everything as low as it will go and turned off everything i possibly can. Still looking at a town it's 40-45 fps and panning left or right is still very jittery.
Am i missing something here, none of the videos i watched look like it does on my setup ? Not exactly a low end system either. 7970 and i5 3570K cpu.

I get shitty performance on the same CPU and SLI 770's.

Really odd how some get such terrible performance.. My dual core was good my pc now is even better, 4xAA / smaa high / high textures
http://prntscr.com/2ho6zg
Thats pretty much the avg fps on SA - it can be better im sure as i get 70-85 on occasions. Cities are 40/45 towns are 55-60
And that is ample enough in this alpha shit to play for sure - if a server has issues though you will see performance drop like a stone.

Hey Moose, did you do anything to increase your performance ? im thinking of all the guides people are advertising atm ?
havent played for a week or so but i was around 50-60 with a 3570k 780gtx and 8gigs ram |
Nothing new other than the gpu frames ahead and so forth to 1 and 1 in the cfg.. I can tell you a big change for some people is reducing the scene complexity, if you lower the complexity to something one would think is too low like 100.000 or even 50.000 some say you dont get any real visual affect on oneself. And yet the frame rate can be a great change, FOV will make a huge difference as well to stop so much being rendered I guess.
I can not see why at all your system would be having issues, if you really think they are that is , maybe the way the game is right now the 50-70 marks on fps IS all that the engine is able to manage mostly on most reasonable machines? Seems that way unless someone can perk up here and say they have constant 100fps.....
I cant seem to squeeze more than 70's fps out of Arma 3 right now either - and single player is still better right now than multiplayer.
If you can keep it around that mostly then I would be content right now and just wait for further changes to the game down the road for improvements.
p.s curious if card is already dying nfohump page and its only this site/forum keeps putting grey squares in the input field of the message area at times.. leave and do things on other web pages and nothing like that ever at all happens lol..

ArmA engine puts all the workload on CPU if you set everything to LOW without using the GPU for things that it should do with GPU powa,so if they didn't change that much on the engine side (and i bet they didn't) it is best to play around without going lower than Normal settings

I can confirm lowering Secne Complexity has the bigger impact on performance for me. Thing is, I wouldn't recommend setting it too low, as it causes awful texture popping at very close distances which is very distracting, and obviously ugly. I can get a decent framerate for my old quad core CPU by lowering scene complexity to "500.0" and leaving most other settings maxed out.

Damn. I'm new to Dayz and I'm loving this game. It's create when games are able to create new sensations... In case of Dayz I get a constant "human paranoia" whenever I see a human being. It's like you are never sure if you can trust someone or not...
And it is also a beautiful game.
Do you guys from Nfohump play together? I'm trying to find some trusty people to tag along just for the fun of it.
