No survival horror titles please (because chances are I've already played them ).
Preferably (but not as an absolute rule) not super-recent ones (because I would have heard of them).
Preferably (but not as an absolute rule) not super old ones (say 1998 or so the earliest).
Not Sanitatium (because it's my favorite already! ).
GO!
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
I bought, played and finished #2 a long long time ago, #1 is on my to do list.
But I haven't played many more! So.. MOAR!!! Tell me, tell me!

if you dont mind old 3d graphics i`d go for emulating some ps2 titles, clock tower, fatal frame, siren games, rule of rose etc. theres more of them and those games often have that "something" which pc games just dont have.
tho most of them are some mixture of tpp action/adventure/survival horror, not strictly _adventure_ games.

I've at least tried if not finished all of those. This is why I'm asking for adventure games only, because I haven't played the vast majority of them.

The Lost Crown
Gabriel Knight 1&2? (you probably played them)
Dark Fall: Lost Souls
Guess it be stupid to mention the Amnesia games...
This off the top of my head... I wouldn't call them horror but they do have scary elements to them.
EDIT: Remembered more
I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream (fucking creepy game, be sure not to get the German version since it misses a whole character because of nazi's)
The Dark Eye
The Black Mirror 1,2,3
I have no Mouth and I must scream was one of the earliest adventure/horror games I played, of course I kinda failed miserably at it.
(There's various solutions to the puzzles which also changes the outcome of the game.)
One I remember was also Shivers which used live action FMV kinda like Phantasmagoria but it's pretty old, got a sequel too.
Black Dahlia I don't remember if it was horror or some darker mystery game but it's also very old.
EDIT: Harvester perhaps but it's also old and a bit goofier (Baby's eyes pops out and mom squishes them back in.) though still pretty horrifying.
White Chamber? (Some freeware horror adventure, pretty sure it's finalized by now.)
Realms of the Haunting? (But it's more akin to a FPS.)
EDIT: Scratches maybe, it got a re-released edition and seems to do pretty favorably in reviews although I've not played it myself.
(Elvira trilogy? Waxworks? Though they are really old now.)
EDIT: Ecstatica 1 and 2?
(Somewhat between adventure and RPG though and also very old, unique graphics due to Ellipsoids.)
"i have no mouth.." plays on scummvm now, so it should be easy to get today
really weird and spooky but perhaps a bit slow if you get stuck on puzzles (google, walkthroughs <3)
sherlock holmes: the awakened was a fun first person adventure game in a sherlock/cthulhu crossover universe
system shock 1 still holds up, but perhaps for other reasons
with the unofficial update with mouselook and other stuff it plays a bit more modern, but the gritty primitive look and simplicity of gameplay has something really spooky about it a more modern game wouldn't have

There is also Haunting Graund maybe the best of them all except Fatal Frame 2 (play the WII remake on Dolphin) which was the most frightening and disturbing (storywise) game ive ever played.
There is only one adventure game which have great armosphere and that is Black Mirror1. One of my favs
as for not really adventure - Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the earth beats the crap out of everything in terms of atmosphere and real horror/mystery
3080, ps5, lg oled

Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth

its one of the best games i ever played

Still Life and Still Life 2. Still Life 1 is a fantastic thriller adventure game, Still Life 2 was a little worse but still great.
What about Post Mortem? Worth it? Should I played it before those or it doesn't really matter?
