Still weak-ass CPU performance. But on the whole as 45W/95W parts?

such a weak cpu, but at least intel still has competition, even if it's so trivial.

Why don't they make a chip with purely CPU power?

Because they can't.

Their per-clock performance is way, way too far behind Intel, there's no way they can build an acceptable pure CPU part. It'll be way too big, way too hot and/or way too power consuming.

But for the segment they're putting these things in, they're very competitive thanks to the brilliant GPU performance with that little power. Intel is the one trailing behind there.

Haha, naw this isn't for my desktop; it's for bartop arcades Smile A very cheap but more than capable APU would be glorious for an arcade build and since I'm in the planning stages right now, pondering taking the idea commercially as an earner, the more it can save on production the better Very Happy

That'd be really neat as long as you got the space - build a proper cabinet for it and all.

As much as I'd love a proper cab, our apartment just isn't spacious enough for a full cab unless I stick/build it in the attic and who wants to be confined up there? Naw, these will be bartop builds - not only perfect for me but also most desirable by others who are also limited by space/money Smile

-edit-

And you can even make custom feet for them;

Yup those are almost as good - and the cabs do take lots of space (just like pinball machines, could've had a T2 one for really cheap but no place to put it Sad ).

Meeh I hate these weak-ass CPUs. You absolutely need good single-thread performance, everything else is an extra.

My c2d e8400 @ 3.3ghz for the fucking win.
