It's like 7 keys? Not that expensive for this game imo. Having more fun with it than with DayZ which is more expensive...

I can see this growing into something more than DayZ in the long run, and considering they're not too far apart now that's saying a lot.

I just wish the animal/rock/wood spawn rate was a little higher/better, I've managed to build my house in the middle of nowhere :\.. No food.. no supplies..

They're planning to make the spawns dynamic.

Though, I don't think they'll enable fully random spawning for the current map...

I kinda regret buying this. Played it a couple hours with a friend and I don't know. Something is MISSING in this game. Even I can't tell you guys what it is, but somehow I don't want to play it. I wish you could gift games from your library then I'd give it away...

My friend told me stuff like "Dude, it's like minecraft and dayz!!! you can build your own fortress and interact with other players and you need to survive just like in dayz!! etc..."

But after playing it a while I'm disappointed that you can't use your own imagination to build your fortress....you need to use blueprints to make Pillars, Walls etc. but in the end every other fucking fortress looks almost the same as yours.

I didn't encounter any cheater but I will wait now until there is more. I don't want to play it for now.

I remember the good old days when beta tests used to be free.

Today they never intend to actually finish the game, because they can hide bugs and missing features behind "it is beta" and still charge money for it.

Yeah, when buying into early access you have to be very careful. You should definitely do you your research on them by reading what others have posted about it, watch videos etc.
Not only that, buying early access games to sp games which are very story driven or demand that certain features to be in is really nothing anyone should throw their money at unless their only goal is to back the devs.

MP games can be bit easier with this in mind, since you might get a feel for the game and how it might be when it's done. But I for one will be very vigilant with this new trend of releasing games as early access since most of the time I would be shooting myself in the foot for doing so.
That said, I'm probably going to get DayZ standalone to play with friends for shits and giggles. ^_^

I know what you are saying but as others have already said I believe its due to the early state of the game. Personally the whole "can die while asleep" thing is a horrid gameplay mechanic with the current feature set because you have no way to defend against it. It needs to be harder to kill people while fortified, traps, alarms, stronger barriers etc..

I have every faith that this game will get better and better, the developers have spent a long time working on a previous game and its been a fantastic success. I'm sure they will do the same again.. but until then.. I kind of wish I'd bought DayZ (more excitement, less irritation for the short term).

You can check Garry's previous game called Garry's Mod. It's pretty decent and customisable and it has been revamped several times. What I'm trying to say is that he is trustworthy and once the game will be in final state, it will be a great game with the ability of customising stuff.

I recommend this game more than DayZ. Runs better on my PC, and DayZ has a horrible game engine just like ArmA.

After being pretty nice for most of my time in game someone decided to build a house close to mine. So I killed him. He came back though, he REALLY wanted that house (which I totally intend on breaking into later..).. So I sat and watched him build it for a while, he finally got all of the walls on and ran off to go find some more wood.. He returned to find some evil bastard had put their own door onto his almost completed house locking him out...

Devil Troll

I watched him run around confused for a while and eventually went to help him break it open at which point he chose to hit me with a hatchet. Poor guy had to die again Sad.

I guess you didn't play it enough. You need to use your imagination and brain, in order to build a good safe base, other way is going to be easy raidable.
Even with pillars, and walls, you still need a good planification of your base. Is not that easy like putting walls and pillars in any way a couple of doors and voila.

My base is currently a maze in both height and width, which had good time of planification, and long time to build. I suffer three raids, but the raiders give up after wasting too much C4 and not finding anything valuable Mr. Green
Meanwhile a lot of people get raided pretty easy, because they didn't plan ahead.

No one has found my house yet, its in the middle of a mountain surrounded by spiked walls to stop people getting to the walls. Worst case they have to blow through 2 metals doors and frankly, I don't have much to steal anyway Razz!

what is not safe? Steam offline mode? It's safer than online mode lol

But most of the time offline mode will result in multiplayer options being disabled sadly.

I meant that is it safe bypassing the rules of Steam sharing, but if the online features don't work then nvm

Dont unless you play with people.

You'll get robbed, killed, raided.

And it's not like DayZ where you can just respawn and find other gear.

You gotta start from the scratch each fucking time. Unless you manage to build a small house and store shit inside, but then again, unless you play with a group that can watch your back, your house will probably be raided by the time you get back in

Once you learn the blueprints for stuff it's much easier and faster to start over, and it's true about raiding, once you logout there's a 90% chance you'll be raided, but i managed to live by myself for a pretty long time without being raided in a secluded spot with fortifications. It's true that with someone else it's a lot easier, I met a guy three days ago and we managed to build a metal house, best armor and every possible weapon in the game in ~1 day. But even if you play with your friends, you'll eventually get raided, it's pretty common in this game. There's also a lot of kill on sight scumbags, they'll kill you even if they see you just started.
