can anyone tell me how to complete the first mission of act 1 ? i destroyed the bombards and completed that objective, yet nothing happens. pls help me!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah I think all the talk connecting the source material of the game to a person's attention span or awareness of history is a load of bs. Yes, there is a few people out there who will try this game and say it sucks because its not quake or ut and no lasers or anything like that. Most people however will try the game, and no matter what their take on the timeframe, will like it or dislike it due to the way they feel about the gameplay. Did I like rome:tw because I liked roman history? No, I had no knowledge at all about roman history but I still liked the game. So did alot of ppl.
And furthermore, I would say IF someone is a historian and knows every damned thing about the timeframe, he/she would probably throw the game out the window. Native Americans co-operating with the spanish in order to drive the British out? Hahaha. Naval battles constantly taking place between colonies right off the coastline? You've got to be joking me. Fightin' a grizzly to get a good chunk of treasure? Muhaha. Need I go on? If this game were anywhere historically accurate it would be a borefest, mostly consisting of slaughtering indians by the thousands and struggling to just build tiny primitive villages, not building massive warmachines to defeat the russians.
Anyways my point is yes there is the kiddies who need bragging rights, but don't say a person doesn't like the game just because they don't know their history.

Hi for those of you that have downloaded Age of empires 3 there is a Bad trojen/virus being passed off as A key gen for the game. It looks like a FSG key gen and tests clean with zone alarms anti virus.also micro trend faild to find anything once i relised i had caught the virus. the first symptoms are ie explorer and fire fox both will run hiden and can not be shut down .my fire wall was consitantly shut down. it creates a new network and god only knows what it was doing!!! new files begin to spring up evry where the comon thread is they all contain the name exploror If you have already used this your system is compromised.
This is what i did to remove this threat. Mind you i am still not 100 % sure i have removed evrything but can find nothing out of the ordinary.
download security task manager. trial will work fine. get A- sqared malware remover.it missed much of this bug. if it is only one bug.but did get rid of the only trojan
I found.next go to syestem restore and set the reserved HD space to the very minimum and shut it down. so that it can not back this bugger up!next boot to safe mode then run a system search using the name exploror do not add .exe as there are many difrent files asociated with this bugger all with the name exploror. While in safe mode delete all the files with that name in it next run A-squared and remove the trojan and rerun the search for exploror deleting anything with that name remember exploror not explorer if you find it also run a search on FSG remove the copys of the key gen. I found four I only extracted one.this may not be the best solution but all the security apps i have faild badly. beware i got this torrent from the prq tracker and i believe its on like three other sites.sorry if my gramer and spelling are way off but i am in a hurry to go find the software i need to protect my system this thing was verry active.and as i said i am worryed i havent goten evrything.but if somthing is left its laying low. i could not post this in the forums and as many of our users have grabed this fine game i felt it was only proper to Warn yall. Quick recap DO NOT DOWNLOAD FSG

i too have two problems with this game:
1) the sound kind of lags.. i see the subtitles and it takes about 5-10 seconds until i hear the people talking.
2) i can't finish the tutorial mission or the first campaign mission, the game just keeps going although all objectives are completed.
i don't know if this problems are hardware related (probably the first one) but i hope a solution will be found soon. until then the game is unplayable (or better said unbeatable) for me..

more or less some "smart" FSG keygen...made by some n00b that like to spread virus... And as said - the release itself have no keygen..so use those "unofficial" keygens and you might surprise - like getting virus...

I'm having a problem with lan games, When trying to join one on the network it says CRC Mismatch or version mismatch when you double click on the game. Have tried the original exe and the cracked exe. (and made sure both computers had the same matching exes)
Is a reinstall in order? Or it doesn't matter.

My thoughts exactly JIG...thats the only way shit like that will spread...other mediums require a level of officiality....anyone can release a "keygen" under the name "deviance" on p2p.
Chalk another reason not to use p2p...

That fake keygen is on the BT, it does have a trojan. NOD 32 cleans it just fine.

Can anyone tell me how i should finish the Spanish Treasure fleet map i have accomplished all the objectives build and tradepost near the indian village etc but still didnt accomplished it somehow....

well for mission 1 , i used the orginal exe again and changed difficulty to medium and now it starts mission 2. i hope i wont see this problem again

Well i belive y0oou have to get six treasure ships, if that doesnt work.
Just wipe the spanish off the face of the map.
I wanted to do that but unfortunately the mission ended cause i captured the treasure ships.

Act III and 0 issues works perfect for me. Moderate mode is tough on some of the levels (easy opt out for pussys) to switch to easy mode. But i have sufferd threw some shity levels without opting out.. "YET" Nice crack and a great game NICE WORK RLD/MS/ENS you have killed about 40 hours of my computer-chairs lifespan.

The game is running great here, I'm not getting any kind of problem with sound or crash or whatever. I just finished Act #2 and it's pretty nice.
I have one question however. Can anyone with a 6800GT or 6800Ultra post a screenshot of the game with Bloom enabled and another one with bloom disabled please? (with the FPS in corner if you can)
Does it take a big performance hit with bloom at on? (Like DOD:S maybe) ??? I have a X800XT and I sadly, I cannot use it. Hopefully the devs will release a patch to make it possible to enable it.

Anyone seen any money/resources cheats/hacks floating around? or do i have to try to figure out the money cheat myself?
EDIT - I opened the DefaultProfile.xml file in the User's folder and found this string
<Setting Name="gameallowcheats">false</Setting>
I can change the value to true with notepad, but cant save as the .xml is read only...any ideas?

why don't you just disable the read only attribute for that file?

i gota say aoe3 sucks.. the game is like simiplified to a dummy version.. all the stuff are gone!
resources are down to 3, commands are ALL gone, the 'blacksmith' only have 7 upgrades? and only once? and the almight explorer that never dies irritate me alot! omg theres just so much to criti on aoe3.. i gota say aoe3 blows donky balls!
