When I was a kid hitting a woman would be an unspeakable act, but now we can't generalise anymore. People and society have changed massively, the typical 'expected' traits for both the sexes have also changed considerably.
Men are expected to be far more sensitive,caring,compassionate etc but also to still be the 'man', our roles have been degraded so far to the extent whatever we do is frowned upon, we no longer have a real place in society as we once did.
Women were down trodden and they deserved much more respect and freedom of choice. But now, women are expected to do as they please and not expect any consequencies, as it's always tha man's fault anyway. Don't get me wrong most women are not like this and just live their lives as we do chugging along trying to get by.
But, as I am sure most of you have noticed some women often now act like the male chauvinists of 50 years ago, they are loud,loutish and violent, the excuse for this is 'they are expresing themselves naturally' whereas if a man acts like this he is 'a violent pig who deserves locking up'.
I believe in equality for women, but if they want equality and act like the above then they should expect comeback. Too many women only want equality when it suits them. All you lot stating 'you should never hit a woman' are citing a tired and outdated mantra which has no place in our increasingly violent society. Where the boundaries between the sexes is blurred to the point where you can only tell the difference if they have no trousers on.
However, using force on anyone should always be a last resort, and only as much as is needed depending on the situation.

It may be old fashioned, but to be honest I am very proud that it is still something I firmly believe in.

You could have just grabbed her when it all started, and threw her out the door and lock them.
But the way you treat your woman, it's not a surprise that your gf is a nut-job. No normal woman will go out with a guy who beats her...

except i don't beat her at all. infact i've never hit her, i just choked her today because she was breaking all of my shit and in a really violent break down.
it only lasted a second or two before i realised what i was doing. i still don't regret it though, i'd say she's easily caused £600 of damage in a minute or two.

who said it's fine? what i did was wrong and i'm aware of it. i don't regret it because i simply cannot afford to have some crazy girl destroy all of my shit in a moment of rage.
i took action quickly, maybe the wrong action but I had to do something in the moment of heat and under a lot of pressure.

Violence does solve a lot of things. I don't agree to the whole "you should never hit a woman" -code because that's utter bullshit. You shouldn't engage a fight with anyone, be it a man or a woman. Self-defense on the other hand is always acceptable when using corresponding force. Whatever force needed, whatever consequences. Self-preservation comes first.
If I would kick the shit out of everyone I want to, I'd never get to sleep. A never-ending task.
The whole whiteknight-don't-hit-a-girl-BS relies on the notion that lads tend to have more muscle mass over lassies hence situations needing excessive force are quite limited. Usually you can just restrain a girl with minimum effort. Of course this means you have to have some muscles. If this is the problem, go to a gym.
You get yourself a heep of trouble by going with this shit and fighting with a woman. The society is hardly ever on a man's side in these situations
