If you are gear head it will be boring for you because you know that nothing is that simple and so easy as in this game. The game should require more skill and knowledge, and remove all the hand holding.
If I can compare this game to some other game it would be Monster Garage, but it was way more challenging and had more features like welding, cutting, etc.

Simply put it's good for casuals/amateurs of car engineering and boring for experts.

Ok,
I made it through the last tier garage (with modship programming).
And i just found out you can repair some parts on the workshop and you need to place the oil bin under the car when changing oil in order to not pay 100$ every time for the cleanup
I enjoy the game so far, it may be simple for experts.
I still forgot to put back rear muffler or starter almost every time I work on gearbox or rear spring arm
I also like the way the ODB and testing path bring you wearing information from concerned parts, so you don't need to check every single part by hand.
Cons are, I wished we could have more interactions with customer (more repair needed, suggestions, ...) and that prices would be at our hands with maybe a reputation system.
Because for now, you got the money first and need to repair with what you got.
But nice game anyway, fun, simple, entertaining ...
Also :
Quote: | 1.0.5.0 :
- AZERTY keyboard support
- disabling head bob motion in options
- one time bank loan
- mouse smoothing off option
- increase training books price
- oil problem on endless mode
- endless mode "Car is in worse condition" issue
- mounting ESC issue fix
- esc key closes pause menu
- disabled right and middle button as click
- checking oil level before test drive, dyno test and path test
1.0.5.1 :
- oil checking issue |

This game is retarded. Brake pads sold singularly? I'm looking all around the engine block for the oil filter but I can't see it (the filter you buy looks like a bloody air filter). I didn't notice the fuel filter anywhere either. I know I have only just started but this is nothing like doing the real jobs.

Oil filter is under the Oil filter cap.
Fuel filter is in front of the fuel tank.
I had hard time at first as well |
That fuel filter was a bitch to find Rest went smooth.
Anywho, not enjoying it much. Had more fun with Farm Simulator TE. Just a bit too basic for me and the test driving looked a bit too horrible

You'll recognize parts and their location. So it's somewhat educational I guess
There is better stuff out there to train yourself as a mechanic tho.

NO!!
I'm a lic. tech for 25 yrs.
This is NOTHING LIKE real work.... |
He asks... at all. For someone who doesn't know what a part is, it can be educational. To me basic is recognizing parts and which are put together. You'll get that out of this. Becoming a good mechanic you will not however.
Something as wheeler dealers would be more educational than this tho

Yeah hehe I had so much trouble find the oil filter! Not in the usual place, at all (Well, based on where is was on any of the cars I had).
Also, what's the point of buying used parts? On order 4 or 5, the douchebag that wants a new starter but dont want to pay more than 100$.
The new one cost like 200$ and using a used one like I did (starter was at 67%) didnt work. Would let me finish the job.

I played the game, and I liked it.
The basic parts of the car are there, and more of the suspension.
Still it's about 20% of all parts of the car and they're simplified by a least 50%. I was surprised by the detail of the clutch.
There are no ball bearings nor paper sheets between certain parts nor additional rubber holds.
The engine is non-repairable, and there is no interior.
It is a good game for a person that has no idea about cars, and can help you learn the basic stuff of what there is in a car. But it requires some knowledge or a lot of lookup which part is where in the car. Example - change all the rubber bushes and I couldn't find the rear ones, until I looked it up in the internet. And if you don't know what rubber bushes is..
All cars/makes/models have the same parts..
Also there is no story - one time you're in the first small garage, then BAM - next order you're in the middle bigger garage.. no why, how, etc..
I recommend this game for people with little or no car knowledge.
Also a tip - before you buy a new part, check if you can repair it - it will be cheaper.
and i have yet to find a usage of second hand parts..

Different types of games, COD isn't a simulator.
