You are right, I didn't pay close enough attention. The two occurences when I thought he'd jump off the vehicle was actually just camera switch, and rotor didn't go offline at all.
That's what happens if I watch video game footage in blurry youtube video at 720p in 30fps.

In most cases you don't really need to fly inside buildings
I normally only crash when I attempt something stupid (I know I will end up bumping into something and crash, but I still go for it) or I get a critical hit at the worst possible time (the smart thing would be to find a safe place when you expect to get hit... but who wants to play it safe anyway ).
Overall it all really depends on how well equipped the enemy is with AA weaponry. If they really want you down, you'll get so many missiles coming your way that not even a chopper full of engineers will save you.
Even so, you will definitely want an engineer on board.
Best combo is Support class pilot with a Resupply Unit perk (can also drop an ammo pack on the chopper until you unlock that one). And two engineers with fast repair and SRAWs (can also replace one SRAW with an Igla/Stinger for more AA capabilities). Infinite ammo and rockets for everyone on board and you can now put the AC-130 to shame.
I played a couple of games, it looks like they finally tweaked the chat as well.
Server/admin messages are now gold/yellow. Team messages are now all in blue and enemy global messages finally color the name with red as well, so it doesn't look all white, which made them easy to miss among all the server clutter.
It did however have a side-effect of displaying a giant message "BALANCING TEAMS DUE TO HIGH TICKET DIFFERENCE blah blah blah" in gold all across my screen and wouldn't go away. Annoying...

You can't do these maneuvers with mouse, and can't have such good aim with joystick..

He plays with KB&M (says so in the description). Very nice flying, now I'm tempted to try some of those manoeuvres...so be warned Sniff, Fable, Garus and whoever else joins tonight

I play with gamepad on PC when in jets/helos.. but sadly the gamepad doesn't react as fast, even if you crank the responsiveness (sensitivity) to max, as mouse/keyboard setup.. :/ dunno why.
