Those are the bullet holes from where he was killed. You see it in some of the first trailers released, when he falls out the window and the murderer appears downstairs and executes the protagonist

Heh, interesting, I guess I need to do more than read the occasional preview or interview and watching screenshots as they are released, although videos (And reviews later on.) can potentially spoil things (Though I'm not too sensitive about such.) however a announcement trailer is usually pretty tame in that regard.
(Or completely different from the main game at times.)
I must admit, this whole "ghost of the past" with supernatural events and monsters atmosphere kinda puts me off. I preferred a realistic gritty modern noir instead, but I guess it could turn out to be interesting if they keep the gameplay fresh without too much handholding

It won't be long before every game on Steam has a separate CIS entry. Publishers (and Valve ) have gotten wise to people buying from CIS territories rather than paying the ridiculous €50/60 prices.
