I got myself the PS4 version and it's worth every penny.
Having play both the PS3 and PC version, I think I can make a proper review of it.
First of all, what surprised me is that some crucial sound effects are coming out of the gamepad (you can disable this feature though), which makes the game even more realistic. You can almost feel the pain when you hear the pike in the Dual Shock 4 at the beginning impaling Lara.
Also, the frame rate is most of the time 60fps, even outdoors, which shocked me considered the PS3 version was obviously capped at 30fps and I couldn't achieve a constant 60fps outdoors on my iMac : I had in mind the plane part which wasn't 60fps on my iMac but was 60fps on PS4.
The framerate isn't constant, but it's not problematic at all since it's most of the time 60fps. On this matter, the PC version bothered me more, because it was less constant even without TressFX.
The Lara model is improved a lot, even compared to the PC version, the dirt and rain on her is more realistic, I don't remember how they call this effect, but it's not in the PC version.
Also what shocked me are the shadows : miles better than the PS3 version and better than the PC version. You can see the vegetation move too with the wind, which I don't remember seeing on PC.
Also, I like the fact you can use the touch pad to light up a torch, and see the dual shock 4 blink yellow/red.
The game is obviously in 1080p and seems to have FSAA 2X, because there is barely any noticeable aliasing, which is a big relief, everything looks crystal clear.
It's basically like playing a "PC game" with all bells and whistles but this on a shitty console, which is really impressive nonetheless : kudos again to Nixxes which are the port masters. No wonders the Xbone version is capped at 30fps, even with the inferior hardware : I think that Nixxes owned the PS4 port.
Finally, I'm sure sabin would love to play this, because believe me, this version is a LOT better than the standard one, even on PC. I know you are hard to surprise, but trust me, this version would actually surprise you. I thought it was just the PC version on console, but it's not. Playing the PC version made me play a "better PS3 version", but playing the PS4 version feels like playing..... a definitive version of the game, it looks more right.
Hopefully that means that Nixxes will nail the PS4 version of Tomb Raider 2, because you can see this version was greatly polished.
Oh and TressFX is less buggy than on PC, although sometimes it still looks weird.
And I was afraid her face would look like shit, after seeing some screenshots posted here and there (the worst ones, obviously posted in the PC section for trolling...), but in motion, it looks better than the classic model (and I thought I would hate the new model !). Also, they re-recorded the pre rendered cinematics so lara has TressFX in them too compared to PC.
All in all, good job Nixxes/TressFX, this isn't just another quick cash-cow, this version was NEEDED.

Hmm I did not know this.
I also have Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition on PS4 and having played through Tomb Raider on PS3 last year, its a real joy to play through a far superior version of the game.
I must admit when I first started playing the game I was pretty bored since it wasnt that long since I played it on PS3 but Ive stuck with it and it has reminded me just how good the game was to begin with. With the framerate and visual enhancements, I cant recommend it enough if you have a PS4.
May the NFOrce be with you always.
