Well now this is pretty cool, although the budget for the trailer probably could have covered the cost of proper FF6 sprites for the mobile version. Cool Face ... Sad

@sTo0z

It's hilarious isn't it? Same with All The Bravest, which is a terrible game in its own right but at the same time it's fan service up the wazoo with the music from the previous 13 games and gorgeous 16bit sprites Very Happy

Got XIII and XIII-2 But I just didn't care half way XIII anymore.
Played them from 1 till 8 and then had a break to come back at the series with XIII and I was just let down what kind of game it became.

Pretty much picked up the XIII-2 because I got it in pretty metal case for 3€ and on hearing it was better, hoping it would force me to play through the first one... that's a year ago and nope haven't played it Sad

Maybe one day... Laughing

The only reason I'm waiting for XIII-LR is so I can finally be done with the series and get it over with Very Happy It does look/sound like it could be fun though, kind of like Dissidia/Dirge, but I haven't considered any of the XIII games to be all that impressive. Sadly it looks like the classic FF style is and buried, XIV is another MMO and XV is another XIII-esque action RPG.

At least we can still play our older gems I guess. Probably will give this a go but I really need to finish the other two first some day But yeah the days are over that I buy a console for the FF series. Sad

LRFF doesn't rehash areas from previous games and the sci-fi vibe of the original is erased. The reason why I was drawn to XIII was the setting it took place in and the fact that it wasn't so extremely out there with it's ideas but they managed to raise the fantasy level with 13-2 and they're not turning it down with LRFF either. It'll get over9000 by the end and it's not even funny. Reggie's body is not ready for this. Shit wasn't so fucked up since Ultimecia's time compression 14-15 years ago.

-----------------
They also never delivered on the early XIII key art of Lightning sitting on the couch. There are two or three of them in the Ark now and the best she can do is float above them via an idle pose of a DLC costume or stomp her dirty shoes on it in any other outfit. Quite uncivilized.

Screw you Squeenix, I can hear the car engine cool down in GTA5, and you can't make a character sit down on the only piece of furniture you put in that damn room. Cool Face

DLC is region locked the same way it is for 13-2, by an expected filename extension e,u,j,c so it's possible to convert it easily but they have audio and the chinese and japanese version only have Japanese speech. I beat the game without any DLCs, they're only schema and not necessary for anything. There won't be any story DLC either so the only thing to miss out on are some unique aesthetics, sound and animation. Despite being essentially useless, they put a lot of effort into the DLC schema since they have unique presentation features while the ~80 already in the game re-use 4-5 sets of animation and there are realistically 20 unique outfits while the rest are variations of those. Having saves, any save of 13 / 13-2 automatically reward you with the outfits and gear from those games, they're not DLC but have the expected unique features. The good thing about those two outfits is that they have all four ability slots open for customization, no locked-in ability.

@ Lara DLC

Would love to see a bald schema for Hitman collaboration and an "I never asked for this" schema for DXHR.
----------------------
There's a simplified explanation in the beginning and a few datalogs after the intro when you get to the Ark. Stuff we should know is explained again and it feels like it's in place for those who are new to FF13. You'll have some work to do with all the main cast so it's better to know who's who by playing the games...
If anyone is actually playing and trying to finish 13-2, you'd best ignore LRFF for now. 13-2 is guided enough that most people finish it in 22-28 hours, the rest of the content are extras and irrelevant.

I get the exact same feeling. It feels like its rushing you to do things or you will miss out on awesome items etc.

I wish they would atleast make it an option... timebased storyline or oldschool rpg.

It's an RPG for ffs.. It supposed to take "time"

Acceptable but not great

Both previous games run better on PS3, it's probabbly the same here too. There's no loading screen between areas if you travel by foot so sections are constantly streamed in. That brings in most of the stutter and I don't even have an original HDD - GTA5 worked for me with both discs on HDD (RGH, extracted files) without the streaming issues shown by digitalfoundry so I assume it's faster than the regular ones that come with the consoles (the recommendation there was to install one and play the other one from the drive). After 90 hours with the X360 JP version of LRFF, I know it was under 30fps way more than it should have. Since we're at GTA5, if you could tolerate that performance, LRFF is about the same, console peasant level of performance. Laughing

It has an install option on the title screen and their explanation is better data streaming (game data .bin files from the disc are packed into a standard package on the 360, the few CGI movies remain on the disc so install size is around 4.5GB).

I keep saving all my EP for Chronostasis, that way its a bit easier to manage your time. Wish it would last a bit longer tho.

Wait, how does the install game data option work? Is that meant to be used ingame if you don't install the disc vpfrom the dashboard? Otherwise, it would reading from two places on the HDD, one from the dashboard install and the other from internal install.

so if its a streaming heavy game then i assume its better to keep the game itself on an ext drive and installed data on int.
