Well, to be clear, even the bishop/Whitecombe were more intelligent debaters against Hitchens/Fry than Ham could ever hope to be against anyone. And those two weren't exactly the sharpest knives in the drawer (as much as I love that debate just for the audience turnover at the end, it did not require any effort from either Fry or Hitchens). Anyhow, I've heard about this debate before, I know it was an eye opener to at least one person I know, so time to watch is at last.

i can agree with that. religious nutters... it's all good.
but once you come to terms... and accept your fate... you don't need to turn to religion in their last moments. you turn to your loved ones and the doctors. if you still do... then you put 'god' ahead of everyone in your family and that makes you scum.

i agree... religious nutters who are pussies need god in their life... they need someone to blame/praise for their actions or the actions of others. oh my son died... lets not blame your sons run in with the hooligans, blame the hooligans. your son graduated top of his class at the best medical school... lets praise jesus and not your sons hard work... Neutral

but i do agree that religion does sometimes make good people... it's all about upbringing. you don't need religion to bring up a good child. but if you are a horrible parent who relies on the bible, you'll instil some of the good natured fundamentals. but you can do all of that without religion. so it's all moot. religion was important eons ago where we were mindless, monotonous, and all around boring. now we have science, medicine, action, and brilliance in life that makes whatever the void religion filled already full with greatness.

i'll watch the debates sometime next week when i have 4 hours of continuous free time, however, I could spend that time watching cloud atlas. Something in constantly putting aside. Sad
