Even after installing it only comes to 134MBs. So yeah, that 200+ megs sounds like a trollent.

Got mine from the guy's official site, gave me a humble link and a steam key, so I'll just play the drm-free version until it unlocks. Smile

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I'm gonna pirate this first and buy later if it delivers. I bought so many fucking Indie games in the last two years and most of them turned out to be utter garbage...

Gonna treat them like AAA titles from now on.. being Indie is not an excuse to me anymore.

Well, as far as I could tell from his message, he said that the 64version was 200 megs, not the two together. And even then, both versions are 100 megs each (100.8 and 100.4), so there's still 30 megs unaccounted for.

Well, the gog version is already up in places, so might as well grab that. It's only 100megs at most. Smile

Anyhow, slowly going through the tutorials, so far it seems like a rather good game. Pretty much exactly what I expected from the videos. The controls are a bit all over the place. There are no shortcuts for controlling time-acceleration, so that's a bummer.

Also, can't tilt the camera for nice overview shots of the village like the postcard view in Anno. I'm a sad panda. Sad

So far so good. Ample supplies of bare necessities, good forest area and quarry under construction. Yeah, easy starting conditions. Razz

Hmmm...everything went very well for a while, I have steady supplies of every necessity, a reasonably varied food supply, lots of tools, clothes, houses, etc. But people keep dying of old age, and there is simply not enough children to keep up with it. I even have a hospital and school just in case. No messages about kids dying, only old people (and one or two accidents in the quarry). Only year 17, and more people died of old age than I started with. So kids born here grew up to be old people in 17 years. o.O

The gold stars are the satisfaction meter.

There are two possibilities. I didn't build a school until recently, and education dropped to zero. Maybe they are too stupid to figure out what goes where. Razz

Or, maybe I spread them out to too many houses. This is highly unlikely to be the reason, but who knows. There is one couple per house, plus the kids. One would expect more kids if they can have a house of their own.

Downloaded the x64 release. Just unrar and play. Runs like a charm even on my ancient computer. Smile I'll finish the tutorials later then start a new game. Seems pretty fun so far Smile

Just started the tutorial, did anyone else have a problem when laying the dirt road? It is asking me to place it over the tops of the houses and fishing hut, but insists it cannot be placed there. Not a big deal I just wondered.

Bought it, enjoying it a whole lot. Did the tutorials and started a village on Hard, I had one or two starvation deaths the first winter cause I was slow to get my food income going but then stabilized after.

It seems that micromanaging workers is a big part of the gameplay at least early, such as..got enough tools? Shut down that blacksmith and turn him into a labourer. Or got enough food for now? Take out one or two gatherers or hunters and put them elsewhere. Etc.

One review said it is very addictive, and I think I can agree with that. I don't think it will have an extreme amount of depth to it and once you're over the learning curve it might become monotonous but I'd need to see how it turns out once your population really starts going into the hundreds and you expand all over the map.

Yes from the developers website. It's £12 via paypal with DRM free version and a steam key Smile You get the download from humblebundle store.

So you can play now without waiting for steam to unlock it Smile

I have a buying question if anyone happens to know?

I was thinking of buying the game from the companies site at http://www.shiningrocksoftware.com/buy/

My question is I have two computers. First computer is running Windows XP 32 Bit and the second computer is running Windows 8, 64 Bit. Would I have to buy two copies or will the same copy I purchase install on both 32 and 64 Bit? I checked out the main site but didn't see anything listed in the FAQS or Forums.

starved to death ><, had enough food, then it just wasnt enough, even with all population working on getting food everyone still died out of starvation, and my firewood got thrown out of stockpile on the ground during winter which resulted my firewood being at 0, there is no way to pick firewood from the ground either? citizens on its own wont take anything from the ground, even if there is fish box next to the house while you starve to death, fisherman starving to death while working with fish all around them <_<

something weird happened tbh, my pop didnt increase fast to run out of food, and when half of it died and i had just like 5 people, 3-4 of them working on food and one builder/laborer it still died out, arg!
