Im playing medium difficulty and I dont understand what all this non run and gun talk is about, Ive been running through the maps when I encounter someone I toggle the sight and they go down usually everyone in the vicinity hears the shot so I continue to pop them off every time someone comes to investigate rinse repeat. Im running around like Rambo with a sniper rifle

I saw a CRACK fix floating around for this game that allows it to be played on Win2k, 98 etc...so those who are having trouble, look for it, it might fix ur shit...

You can't.....it's a 3rd person game period. Only first person you get is when you enter sniper mode

RestoreLastError is a winxp-specific api (one of the few that was added)
meaning that the crack will only work on winxp

yea it's pretty lame, sniping is too easy I mean the sight hardly goes up and down even when you move...
OFP, now that was a great sniping game!

Man, play the game on "sniper elite" mode and not on normal (normal isn't much harder than the easiest modes), and you will see how realistic the sniping actually is. If you dont take the wind and the gravity into consideration on "sniper elite" mode you will miss your target. You cant just aim and think you will hit where you aim, that's realistic.
You will even see on your target when the bullet hit that the wind and gravity changed the bullets line alot. I have hit targets around the ear even though I aimed somewhere else. I dont think I have hit a single shoot at the EXACT same place in the head, that's realistic.
The AI will also kill you easy as hell if you run and gun on that difficulty.
I hate when newbies flame a game when they have only played the game on something less than the most difficult setting, it's just so incredible dumb, and especially in a game like this which doesn't even have all options turned on on anything less than "sniper elite" mode.
It's like "wah wah, the AI is so lame, it just stands there doing nothing...oh and I play on very easy".
This IS the most realistic sniper ever created, and that is a fact and not an opinion.

First person viewmode is not realistic if your going to be pedantic, it's field of view is always around 90 degrees which is far from the same vision you get in reality. You also lack the positional awareness you would have if you could utilise your senses, which you can't in a game obviously. Thus thirdperson does have it's merits.
You could argue all day about each mode, the point is how it's utlised. I've not played this game but I hope to eventually.

Well if the game really was realistic, no-one probably (except from real snipers) would be able to play it. Still, it is just a game and is supposed to be fun and too much realism would kill the fun. Anyway, if someone really prefers realism, why not go outside and play paintball? Or go to Iraq, for hardcore "gamers".

i will give this game a 7.5 on 10 too since i found the sniping a little bit too easy on sniper elite mode... as other say... the AI ok but the best i saw... they can't detect dead body when they walk by one...

Yeah it's not as realistic as I was given the impression. It's realistic, and it's more difficult than the posts in here suggest, but it's still very forgiving in the accuracy department. Having said that, I'd like to take on those who say it's easy online. Come on, who is up for a campfest?
