Custom difficulty sounds nice too:

Quote:
But here there’s a Custom difficulty level too. Turn off various factors and the game will reward you with kudos points. Take away quicksave (argh, no!) and you’ll get 180 points. Turning off Focus gets 50, only allowing stealth takedowns another 50, and removing the reticule scores you 30. Right, those are the easy ones. You can remove the ability to heal, or even lose missions if damage is taken. Go entirely insane and you can set the game to “No Kills Or Knockouts”, “No Alerts”, and even “Iron Man” which turns the game into a Roguelike – one death and the entire game is lost. Insanity.

never played a thief game before, but this looks like it could be pretty fun. I'm basically caught up to my backlog and will need something new to play and keep me busy, might pick this up.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Most of these sites gave alpha protocol 6+ too. And I had a lot of fun playing it.

So, I' rather play it myself and check it out than trust them Very Happy

Difference is AP was developed by a great company and mostly received bad reviews for being buggy and technically not very finished, despite being very open and having great writing/story.

This seems to get bad reviews for just being a bad game overall.

Well, we'll see. If it's shit then so be it Wink

PS I'm watching TB's preview and tbh I am quite impressed with the range of settings custom difficulty mode allows us to set. I wonder on what difficulty level those critics played it actually and how they played it Very Happy

Like in real life you are totally invisible in shadows in front of someone lol.

I'm not that far into the game, but I quite like it. 7/10 would probably fit it so far, but ONLY if those review sites lowered score for other games. According to their current ranking systems, I'd give it around 8.5/10 or something easily...

I don't really give a shit about those reviews, it's only shame that unless the game will do well financially or at least get more positive user's ranking on metacritic, we won't see another Thief game for quite some time...

Poor squeenix...I generally like games from them, but they always perform underwhelmingly in terms of reviews or profits...

Why should those people rate it differently than people in this forum? They play it based on the biased opinion that it's going to fail, see some flaws and see their opinion as confirmed. Perfect example is TB, although I didn't watch his WTF video for Thief yet.

TB liked it. A lot. So I'm not sure where you're coming from.

I'll form an opinion once I play it, I give 0 shits about any reviewer, they're all useless fucks. CoD: Dawgs got 8/9/10/11/INFINITY from all of them, so as far as I'm concerned they're clueless Smile

And yes, I'll take the masochist route and turn all the screen spam off Very Happy

I've deliberately not watched or read much about the game (just opened the review videos and skipped to the end Razz). I was skeptic about DX:HR and was proven wrong. I'm skeptic now and hope to be proven wrong again. DX:HR looked terrible from videos and reviews as well, but then you can actually turn shit off and becomes much more interesting. If this turns out to be much the same, I'll buy it - but not before I've tried it myself Wink

That's why I mentioned I didn't watch it. I saw some other videos where he bashed games, just because, even if it was him failing to play the game correctly. Was a reference to the RPS quote above.

Just unlocked it ( thx flyvpn ) now running some benchmarks...

1st one, Tessalation off, the shadow thing off: http://imgur.com/VH9iO41

2nd one, tesselation on, the shadow thing off: http://imgur.com/3kIHgxs

GPU Constantly at 98-99%

Feels like Batman: Arkham City with PhysX on High

My system is not that bad so I dont know why I get such a low framerate ( i7 3770k, gtx 670, 8gb ram )

Edit: And I dont know why I get more fps with Tesselation on Very Happy.
