The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

Overall there is hate towards stealth sections and modern day part of a setting. Soundtarck is great soundtrack ,gameplay i fine and there are conflicted opinions on story (some says its great some say its crap)

Binary rating system is a way to go. Aww Yeah

Also, how does metacritic translate that to their score aggregation? NO = 0, YES = 10 ?

Based on these reviews this game has me even more interested than before. Most definitely because I can't wait to see that stealth section. Really looking forward to see if it's as bad as they say it is. It took 4 hours to get past it to that kotaku guy Aww Yeah

cocktaku at its best, taking 4 hours for a 10 minute section, isnt it frustrating being a game reviewer while sucking at games?
its like being a professional cook who can only serve fresh turds.

If that's the one I saw in a video early on in the game then it should have taken around that long (It's a tutorial segment after all, it walks you through exactly what to do.), not ~4 hours although according to the various reviews later stealth segments are more annoying.

I think it'll be the time when Steam updates the store page and related content, which is around 19.00 here or in 5 hours 45 minutes.

EDIT: Was answered in the above post. Smile

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 includes a High-Definition Texture Pack. Recommended for systems with at least 1Gb of dedicated video memory. This pack can be enabled from the Advanced Settings, in the Video Configuration menu.

Steam description was updated. Smile
(Should look a bit better than the demo then but nothing too fancy if it's just ~ 1 GB VRAM.)

Settings:

High-res texture pack on. (It's just a separate 1 GB archive but it's still something.)

High-res texture pack off.

EDIT: Damn camera.

On / Off

(The gargoyle / bust shows the biggest difference but it's difficult to spot even so.)

user score is good enough for me(8.3) , review ranges from 4 to 9

Also review from a friend after first hours(on PS3):

Quote:
+ Performance. Good 30fps, only drops at things like save points/item collections.
+ Art direction. It's impressive.
+ Upgrade system gives you some freedom and encourages using all attacks.
+ Gameplay is sharp. Dodge is much better. Satisfying.
+ Dracula's executions look great.
+ Void/Chaos add a lot to the experience with different movesets.
+ Platforming is quick and requires timing and spacial awareness.

- The sub resolution does lead to things appearing pixely/jagged at times. Play PC if you can.
- Modern areas aren't bad, they just seem meaningless. The modern setting barely adds anything.
- Music can be glitchy. I've been scared by music randomly starting/stopping for no reason.
- Haven't encountered a lot of stealth, it's all been easy, just slows the pacing down.

Definitely not a 4/10 game. Probably 7.5/10 for me so far. So far I don't like it as much as LoS1, but I preferred that that game was more straightforward. Transition reminds me a lot of Arkham Asylum to City, the gameplay opens up and becomes a lot better, but the story becomes more haphazard and your goals in both a plot and destination sense aren't as clear. That and less exciting environments. QTEs are off and playing on Hard. Few deaths so far, mostly just to learning enemy/puzzle patterns.
