Cloudbuilt is an old-school action platformer where your goal is to traverse obstacles as efficiently as possible. As Demi, a recently injured war-veteran in mental rehabilitation, you will always be on the move as you progress from confused rookie to masterful speed junkie.
Explore the thoughts of Demi through challenging multi-path levels using extreme wall runs, dashes and jumps. Avoid hostilities in your path, or shoot them out of your way as you charge and release your powerful energy beam. Be the dare devil who risks your life to cut valuable seconds and beat the high score!
Classic 2D action platformer meets modern TPS (Third Person Shooter)
Carve your own path through every level.
Branching level selection.
Catchy soundtrack with a retro feel.
Challenge your friends records, and beat their cloud saved ghosts.
No unlocking skills. It is all there to explore and master from the get go.
In-house engine.
Utilizes Nvidia PhysX Technology.
Move Hatch_0_1_2_3 and till Hatch5 (Twelve files) to a separate folder to remove the effect, feel free to experiment with what files to move since the effect can be adjusted a bit since there's so many separate files.
Unsure what to best compare to but it's pretty similar to the Trials DLC for Mirrors Edge, you have to go from the start of the area until the end (Checkpoints denoted by flags.) and for the best results (bonuses and such.) you want as high rank as possible which means avoid dying and get a good score / time.
You can run and jump in various ways and after the tutorial you get that suit for boosting plus it also reveals the health (blue) and energy (yellow) pickups.
Some robotic enemies will also act as obstacles so you have a pistol with slight homing shots that can also be charged to break stronger armored stuff like certain barriers.
There seems to be a lives system as well but I am not fully sure about how it work.
EDIT: Arcade platforming game with speedrunning elements perhaps?
The game's only been out a few short hours but already, the team have been busy making it even better. The first patch has gone live – you should already have it but, if not, update your local files to be sure you have build 216916 – and contains the following enhancements:
• Updated the settings file with default data for the new options
• Added draw distance option in Options menu
• Added effect draw distance option in Options menu
• Added light draw distance option in Options menu
• Added texture quality option in Options menu
• Added anisotropic filtering option in Options menu
• Added fps lock option in Options menu
• Added option to hide timer until a level is cleared
• Tutorial prompt pauses game option now works as intended
More to come soon, including the addition of something we know a lot of people want…
Wow, you can actually choose which way to go to the POD. I already found quite a lot of shortcuts and crawled somewhere that i wasn't supposed to be at all and even if there was nothing, no secrets or anything - it is the fact that you can apply game mechanics freely without invisible walls. It means a lot. Little fun but still fun.
mmm, wanted to try this but it crashes anytime with missing msvcp110.dll error...seems to be related to visual c++ installation or sth, but tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing. Any ideas? Otherwise maybe It´s time for formatting and stuff .
Compared to the previous DLC this one is more elaborate and much more substantial, including larger and more diverse levels, new mechanics, enemies, story, skins as well as a new game mode and a new ending.
Take on the role of Demi, a young soldier who wakes up in the empty shell of a ruined building, in the center of a strange new world, disconnected from her old life and physical body. With each new challenge she overcomes Demi slowly pieces together the future now laid out before her.
This remastered edition stays true to the original concept with an emphasis on player skill and creativity, but with even more diverse mechanics and a more connected and varied world.
Complete incredible feats of free-running and sharp shooting
Run through expansive worlds floating above a vast abyss, use your rocket-powered exo-suite to explore hidden paths and collect power ups to boost your performance
Try your hand at 177 challenges and experiment with 3 game modes
Features lightning-fast, action-packed speedrunning gameplay: use reflexes and speed to compete for the top position in the leaderboards
Will Demi learn to understand and accept her new world, or question her reality and learn to defy it?
More of a remake than a remaster I would say. Because we've rewritten and reevaluated everything pretty much. Even though the player mechanics in many ways might seem similar at first glance, not a line of code was reused from the old player mechanics and the whole collision and physics engine in changed as well, along with a rewrite of the story and changed how you progress in the game, with the hub world and additional challenges and powerups and such.
It's as close as you can get to a sequel without actually being a sequel I would say. And that's why we call it Super Cloudbuilt, and not a Cloudbuilt Remake, or Cloudbuilt 2. If that make sense? ^^
