i dont have that file PERIOD. and i get the random PC crashes and the sound skips and all thatgood stuff. how can i fix this problem?

running XP SP2

thnx

You can try this steps then:

1. Step: Reduce DirectSound Hardware Acceleration
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type dxdiag, and then click OK.
- Click the Sound tab.
- Under DirectX Features, move the Hardware Sound Acceleration Level slider all the way to the left (the No acceleration setting).
- Click Exit, and then start the game.

2. Step: Load no autostart programs when Win XP starts.
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.
- Click the selective start option.
- Uncheck the square "read in autostart objects"
- Click OK and reboot windows.

Same procedure when u wanna turn it on again..

Sorry if the words are not quite correct, but I have the Swedish XP, but I think U get it... good luck Razz

And one more thing you can try, turn off the overclocking on the graphic card if u have it overclocked.

Hmm reducing the hardware acceleration for sound fixed the sound skipping, but the random crashes are still around :/

Fuck, I was dissapointed by that game, I hoped it will be more like AoE II then AoM Sad
Fuck Microsoft! Yet another fucked up game... and I waited soooooo long Sad

About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.

Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

patch out,

CLIENT FIXES 1.01

Fixed a bug in the command manager that caused slow performance when CPAIs were in the game
Fixed a bug that caused sound effects (and sometimes music) to stop playing
Fixed a problem where unplayed dialogue lines made the Campaign scenarios stop working
Fixed a bug on the Postgame screen that allowed players' names to be edited
Fixed a bug where all players would hear the selection sound for HC cards played
Fixed a bug that kept the ESO connection problem dialog box from closing
Fixed a bug in the Portuguese tech TEAM Early Dragoons that kept some civilizations from training their anti-cavalry units until the Industrial age
Fixed a bug that made abundant resources available in the single-player Campaign
Fixed a bug that did not let the host launch the game once the number of players was reduced below the number that had clicked ready
Tweaked movement code to improve the responsiveness of units
Changed formations so that unit types keep their setting even when grouped with different types
NETWORK AND ESO FIXES 1.01

Fixed a bug in the Unresponsive Player dialog box so that it closes once consensus is reached

suppose we have to wait for new crackfix now, oh the joys of cracked games!

ok, make sure you have orginal age3.exe (like when game 1st installed) otherwise it won't update, i then ran it without the reloaded crack expecting it not to start,it did and under "help aand Tools" then "about" said 1.01 from 1.00, so went back and copied over the orginal crack, started up game, that worked and then checked again and game still says 1.01 updated.

So gonna give it a go now, see if the sound and crashs to desktop have been fixed.

Ok been playing, sound still disappears and game still crashes, the onlt time is plays with no probs is with no sound still, tried with no cracked.exe and with and same for both.

ahh....cause you put the old exe.....
The patch replaces the old exe(1.00) with a newer version(1.01), which has all the updates and upgrades in it. So, you copied the old crack file(1.00) over the new exe(1.01) and by so deleted all the changes and just returned the game to it's older state. You need to wait for a new crack, before you can play with 1.01.

i tried running with crack and without after the update, game works without old crack also (dunno why as its a cracked game) but sound issues and crashs still both present with and without old crack.exe after update

you are not the only one. me and some others have this problem, that you can't finish the 1st campaign mission or the 2nd tutorial mission. i don't know why that happens, but what i know is: i have this problem on windows 2000. but the same AOE3 installation runs fine on windows server 2003, which i normally never use for gaming.

I really don't know what is wrong , can anyone help us please.
Would it be wise to make a dvd from 3cd's ? Would that solve the problem.
I don't think that cd's are corupted?

so I have solved the problem.
I copied all 3 cd's to one directory on HDD ( all files from cd/s) , but when I tried to copy cd no.3 on that wmv file I got crc error and I was unable to copy it to hdd.
So what i did is this : I have just renamed some wmv file I had on my computer and put it in the ... folder where that crc file was supposed to be and voila everything works well.

solution no2. just use some program like ISOBUSTER and replace that corupted file from iso no.3 with some other wmv with same name.

P.S. u can post me on what file do u get error so I can mail it to you and u can do the same thing as I did

no, that is fixed, as stated in the patch notes. wait for a proper crack, using an old .exe is folly

found a temp fix that stops the crashing and improves the sound from disappearing "so fast" , it still goes butnot as quickly now.

Instalation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Open the folder where you've installed the game.
2. Now go to Sound\music\standard
3. There you will have 10 MP3s which you have to move somewhere else,
for example to Sound directory.
4. All done, enjoy crash-free gaming.
* Observe AoEIII homepage for the patch - it should be released real soon
(of course after the update you can move the music back to it's proper
folder.
at least it enables me to play now without crashingl
