Anyone here had problems with save corruption?
I don't have the patch installed, and my latest save loads, a message popup appears saying the save is corrupted and i get thrown to the menu.

Again, does it say save corrupted? Or does it say there was a problem saving the game and that you'll now be returned to the menu? If it's actually the latter, you need to run it as administrator.

Have you tried changing the texture streaming settings? That's known to break existing save files.

It doesn't corrupt them though. At least not that I experienced. The game will just crash when you try to load. The save game is fine and never gives a corrupted message.

Finished chapter 3 without being detected, no suspicions raised, no kills or takedowns and yet I still got Opportunist rating? How does the rating system work?

Opportunistic is using the environments to your advantage, unsure what exactly that means compared to Ghost, maybe using and manipulating the surroundings in various ways from putting out torches and candles to using rope arrows although that's pretty vague.
(Oppressor or what the aggressive style was called is mostly because you knocked out or directly killed people but I don't know the specific criteria for either of the three, maybe the little bonus objectives can help since they are specific to the style you got through the mission most as.)

I didn't change anything.
I just tried to load the game again now, mainly to take a screenshoot of the message, and the save worked.
I'll just save more often and in different slots.

I figured opportunist means that you stole a lot of things, while ghost meant that you only did the objective and left no other traces that you were ever there.

Game is almost closer to playing a sneaky char in dark messiah then a regular thief.
At least that's how the part in the ruins felt

Or just disable it. Play the game as a "real" PC gamer.

i kinda find the waypoint system stupid and often need to bring up the map to see the route more clearly , so navigating with the minimap is more ok but its too big

Quote: | Thief developer Eidos Montreal has just laid off a number of employees, according to multiple Kotaku sources.
We've heard differing numbers, but they're big—one source says 30-50; another says 20+. Those people requested anonymity while speaking to Kotaku.
A number of reports suggested that the game had troubles during development. |

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I tried but could not finish this game, really boring and no sense of accomplishment when stealing stuff, a shame :/

At a smaller studio this would probably be the usual post launch layoffs, but since its Eidos /Square-Enix we are talking about this shouldn't be the case since studios this big normally don't do this, they should have enough other projects running to shift the staff too.
Seems like some Suits are not happy with the results of Thief so far, a pitty since those are probably the people responsible for how the game turned out and not the people who got fired.
