RPS were pretty harsh on it. Normally I would take their viewpoint over the usual "10/10, best game evar!" crowd. However, it was by Walker, and he really does seem to be a joyless fuck. As time goes on I despise him more and more. I really wish they would stop having him do 90% of the WITs.

This is especially true in Kotaku's case.

I already mentioned in in the Oscars thread, but there are people within this industry actually slating Jared Leto for winning the Oscar for playing a trans woman, because in reality he's a heterosexual man.

Just think about it.

RPS's WIT was actually quite considered in this respect:

Quote:
And this is where that complicity really stands out. At one point, your actions cause someone else to be anally raped. And yes, in its context, and with the reactions to it, it was funny. But not that funny. Not funny enough for it to have felt worth it. And especially since, unlike most episodes of the show, it wasn’t there for any purpose. There’s no point being made. It’s just that they once had that anal probing episode, so there’s anal probing in the game. This wanton use of offensive ideas (and they are numerous) without there being a reason beyond their being offensive, is something that I found occasionally too icky.

It's an intelligent argument, and he at least acknowledges that it's an issue he has with the game.

Yeah the humor is a bit unique but I'm really enjoying the game so far, bit simplistic perhaps but it's fun to play and there's some tactics involved during the fight sequences so it's not entirely passive or how to say, plenty of places to explore as well and as the images have shown so far there's some pretty interesting discoveries to be made. (Never watched South Park though aside from that full movie from some years ago.)

Off to find Jesus now, wonder what messed up situation that will lead to.
(I already massacred a bunch of Mongolians, beat up a homeless person - and his dog -, broke a dude out of jail so that he would befriend me on that Facebook like app, killed a bunch of rats and I've stolen everything possible including some very questionable personal belongings.)

Are any of you using keyboard and mouse for this game? From what little gameplay I've seen, the in-combat QTEs would be easier with a pad

Mouse and keyboard, I don't have a gamepad though so I can't compare them. Smile

However it's just pressing or holding button1 or button2, sometimes using the movement keys to build momentum in a swing or during a mini-game so it's not very difficult, blocking multiple attacks can be a bit tricky but I'm pretty used to how it works now so I do quite a few perfect attacks and blocks, later on though there will probably be more challenging enemies to battle. Loving the game, the only problem is that it's almost insultingly easy, even on hardcore difficulty.

Well to be honest, i found the part where you're in
 Spoiler:

I think if you watched at least a couple of Southpark episodes and liked them, you will laugh at most of the "offensive" scenes.

And i can't believe the RPS guy is offended by swastikas? Seriously?

Then there's this :

Quote:
My personal position is that I have the right to be offended, and will fight for that right. How much I want to choose to take part in the creation of that offence is something I’ve yet to work out. The Stick Of Truth crossed the line for me a couple of times

"We welcome to our kingdom, Douchebag the Thief" you're goddamn right! ^_^ I see the Steam "playing" thing is bugged out for those of us outside America? The 30fps cap is a shame but unavoidable considering they're going for pure "episode-like" quality, but what I most dislike is the weird shading effect on everything, makes the game look grimy and dirty.

What is WinSCP.exe doing in the game directory? At first I thought I accidentally dragged it into game folder, but nope. Both FTS and RLD have it in their release.

It's part of the legit Steam release too, it's an FTP connection client though what it's doing with South Park I don't know.

Yeah I know what it is. I use it pretty regularly - hence why I thought I dragged it in the game folder at first Very Happy

I don't know much about steam distribution, but my guess would be they used it to copy the game onto steam servers and accidentally left it in game directory Laughing
