Resurrection is an upcoming American fantasy drama television series about previously dead people who come back to life. The series is based on the The Returned series of novels by Jason Mott (an obvious Les Revenants rip-off) and is being co-produced by Plan B Entertainment (led by Brad Pitt, Aaron Zelman, etc) and by ABC Studios with direction by Charles McDougall.
The series follows the residents of Arcadia, Missouri, whose lives are upended when their loved ones return from the dead, unaged since their deaths. Amongst the returned is Jacob Langston, an eight-year-old boy drowned thirty two years earlier. Having somehow been found alive in China, he is brought back to America by an immigration agent. His surprise return inspires the local sheriff, whose wife drowned trying to rescue Jacob, to learn more about this mystery
The series will premiere Sunday, March 9, 2014

In a small mountain town, many dead people reappear, apparently alive and normal: road accident victim teenager Camille; suicidal bridegroom Simon; "Victor", a small boy who was murdered by burglars; and Serge, a serial killer. They try to resume their lives as strange phenomena occur: amongst recurring power outages, the water level of the dam mysteriously lowers, revealing the presence of dead animals and a church steeple, and strange marks appear on the bodies of the living and the dead.
I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
I've just watched the trailer and tbh I don't like the setting . But I'll give it a try just to see how it goes and how it fares against the original TV series
Afaik there will be another remake, this time UK produced.
Because it's not an adaptation of the French series. Just a rip-off based on a book. And as far as I can see, the US one tries to win by approaching the trendy subject of faith, no? Normally even the segment with the priest saying he doesn't know dafuq we come from should already be bashed by church

The French movie was kinda bad as far as I remember
But since we are talking about "the returned" here is another new movie http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2093270/ I haven't watched it yet, just downloaded.
This thread has delivered in a big way! Not only am I looking forward to this retelling, Resurrection (though like you all, I hope it's not just about Jacob, I hope it's about a lot more "returned") but I've also discovered the French original series Les Revenants *and* the latest 2013 zombie drama film "The Returned" as well
For something like this it would need to go full out religious. Serious religious. Not pseudo. Not half way. Full on religious. Take it self seriously. Treat it as such. Build a whole story around it. Because it will get cancelled if it doesn't get ratings. And it wont get ratings because it's a decent concept, it's dark, it deals with some nice things... which a lot of viewers in ughmerica won't want to experience. thinking tv is dead. so flush out the story. make it super serious, super smart... but all focused around religion.
