season pass = completely optional collection of DLC that adds maps. so basically you stopped playing BF3 and skipped BF4 for no reason, no one was forcing you to buy season pass to continue playing the game. you can never buy a single DLC and still get 100s of hours of gameplay out of the game, especially considering that most servers run vanilla maps... same with Titanfall. |
Problem with that is that it can splinter up a community. Can't join some servers due to not having access to certain maps due to them being available only through DLC.
If I join a friend playing on a server in BF4 that is running the maps that I don't have access to it will either not let me join or kick me when switching maps.
If the map packs were free and you actually paid for the extra weapons/camo/dog tags it would be all fine and dandy, however that's never the case.
I wonder if this argument can be used with free to wait games (ala dungeon keeper for smartphones).  |

no worries son, just connect once to the vpn(BEFORE logging into origin) to unlock the game and then start it.
you can unplug it after you are in the main menus. |

Does anyone know how can I cap FPS to specific number? My monitor is 61Hz and Vsync: off caps it at 60Hz not 61Hz.

Technically, Source should be able to have in-game cap option but it was broken even on vanilla source (L4D1/2), soo... try nvidiaInspector/AMD pro whatever-it-was? Both can do it for specific GPU.

Hmmm, not sure. I'll definitely check it out when I get home, I know trying to set the FPS limiter in nvidia inspector in the last few nvidia driver versions would lock up my system during gaming.
Would be nice to have that option again...

Origin says "Supported Language: Russian" and that's it.  And that is for $33 which is a lot considering that dat POS Origin edition doesn't even have English language supported (Steam FTW!)..

ping is shit for me, 70-90ms, never had this problem in a game before
i'm used to 30-40ms bf,cod etc. Last game I had 110ms wth??? That's like if I'm playing on a Server across the globe. I live in sweden, trying europe west, still horrible ping.
Getting tearing even with vsync on (radeonpro)
enormous stuttering on my rig, shouldn't happen
My biggest gripe is the ping, why I'm I getting such high ping? 30/20 here, never had ping issues. I get 40ish ms in bf 4.

Locked to 60 without VSYNC, turn it on if you have a 120 + hz monitor to set the lock to w/e hz you have.
Really annoying as I can't play with VSYNC since I get weird stuttering even though it's constantly capped @ 120
