Ugh, no luck.
Steps I took:
1.Installed Dark Souls Prepare To Die Edition-FLT
2.Patched to 1.2
3.Copied DSFix 2.2 to main folder, ran the GUI, enabled borderless windowed mode and disabled texture override.
I tried running as admin and setting compatibility mode to XP SP3 on both launcher and DATA.exe, and moving xlive.dll to system32 as well, no luck.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Holy shit... yet another game downgraded, in the same way?! Ugh... and yes, graphics do fucking matter especially when we're talking lighting. They help in creating the atmosphere and the lighting seen in older footage did that really well actually. Oh well...

Have you tried using a previous dsfix version, like 2.0.1 or 2.1? Oh and remember to disable in-game aa. (although I don't think this is the culprit here)

thing is, no game had that lightning which they`ve shown, and its just stupid to expect it to look that way on x360/ps3 x years old hardware.

there can never be enough dark/demons souls bosses,
according to various sources there is a total of Spoiler: | 40 | bosses (including optional ones and maybe unique ng+ ones) in the game.

it is a graphical downgrade yes, but with a game this pure and amazing in all other aspects, especially the most important one: gameplay, i dont really give a shit.
this isnt a gimmicky trainwreck like watch dogs, which was marketed on its graphics.

Well, anyone surprised by the graphics are fools if you ask me. When was there ever a japanese RPG with truly good graphics? I can't for the life of me think of a single one. Dull and dead worlds with the most impressive gfx wise being the characters in certain games.

square´s ff games in the psx and ps2 era were always the height of console graphics in their time.

But thats the problem. Japanese games today look like slightly evolved ps2 gfx.

We'll see how the PC version is if they ever decide to show some media from that version of the game before it's released, if not there then I guess it'll be updated for a eventual PS4/XBoxOne release later on?
(Wouldn't be totally unexpected if the PC version lacks the lighting and other advanced shaders and then a updated build of the game is released later on for those console platforms though it would be nice if From Software has taken advantage of the hardware available on PC, no idea if it could be patched in later either but that's usually not the case.)

yea, even lightning returns, the latest of the old ff series that used to set new milestones in console graphics, looks like utter crap, the textures are 100% from ps2.

seriously i have heard so many people say that the game not only looked better in the ps3 beta, but also ran smooth, the obvious reason for this graphical downgrade would be a current-gen re-release or maybe a vastly superior pc one.

With as big of a world as DS 2 has perhaps it ran better with a small and closed beta compared to the whole world which we get in the retail. Just speculation though.

I find outcast voxels breathtaking even to this day,
even if they're technically primitive.
that pic above still looks atrocious

Looks "breathtaking" to me guise.
Seriously, people who play Dark Souls don't care about graphics, and saying that PS2 era textures are "breathtaking" is silly at best. |
that is some ridicilous looking shot, colours are all washed out, and its blury as fuck, looks like from old SD tv lol. game itself obviously doesnt look that way. its nothing amazing, but ds2 does look good, textures are not ps2 era, that statement is simply bullshit.
obviously some retards will always bitch about how it doesnt look crysis like, and if it looked like that they will bitch about its requirements.
there are some great looking vistas and some nice lightning effects from time to time, overall i like it better than ds1, and with pc options and hopefully sharper textures/sweetfx it will look great.
anyway its a last gen game so dont expect anything "amazing".
