Well shit, I at first didn't want to buy it...but then I wanted to when I woke up this morning.
So I tried, but the transaction was declined for some unknown reason, so I couldn't buy it after all!

I'm in the same boat pretty much I fought long and hard with myself yesterday, but my sensible side won. I'll wait till next month until I preorder, I'll be able to afford it then. I hope this doesn't mean I have to wait half a year longer than anyone else :/

It's 1080p. If your PC handles full hd well, it will work fine.
That's the thing my monitor is only 1680x1050 so I can't test beyond that.
A 3570k and 7970 will handle 1080p gaming marvellously and if you feel some games lagging a bit, you can always overclock
Thanks Sabin, I can run most all games at highest settings with great frame rates, so hopefully I'll have no issues and like you say I can overclock if needed.

Perhaps he would be fine with the 720p display and for $200 rather than $350 (+ shipping/taxes/etc) A friend of mine just ordered the DK2 and is selling the DK1 to my elder brother for cheap, who is ecstatic about it as well

Yeah, if CV is announced in the timeframe leading up to the DK2 shipping I might cancel my preorder.
Who knows when they are able to get the manufacturing for the CV components running though, since I bet the cellphone manufacturers want some of that 1440p display action as well, and since they are quite a deal bigger than Oculus as a company I would bet they have first go at all the manufacturing deals.
I'm going to use dv2 as a preview to see if I will keep or buy the final product. I'll probably use the devkit for a month and then sell it, hopefully with no or very little loss in value.
But that all depends on how soon after the devkit they announce the consumer version. Going of the dv1 prices now I don't think there will be a problem selling it, I doubt they can roll out the cv so quick.

dk2 is over 1500pln with shipping to here. Just checked on oculus site, so 1200 for first prototype which can be considered collectors item is not that bad maybe?
