Because I'm sick of you constantly attacking people that don't accept the levels of bullshit you accept. The amount of times you've attacked others for wanting something as standard (to PC gamers  ) as larger FOVs and not the console-based 65 nonsense, is staggering. Then when you get people's backs up and they take the piss out of you, you play the victim card and retreat behind your old faithful "graphics whores" defence. It's fucking bullshit.

PC gamer maybe, but enthusiast? Never. No enthusiast, self-proclaimed or otherwise, would so readily accept low framerates and low FOV or crappy visuals. Enthusiasts are, by their very definition, enthusiastic about their chosen focus .. they're not of the bend-over-and-accept-it variety and they sure as fuck don't tell others to stop complaining or to just accept it. That's because everyone else there thinks as you do. Which is why I said just go back, you'd obviously be happier there, nobody to complain about the lousy visuals or shoddy performance and nobody seems to give a shit when developers blatantly lie about the product they're all splooging over. I've never called anyone a derp for liking a specific platform, I've been a console gamer my entire life, still play my 360 all the time and lament the loss of my PS3 daily - but I acknowledged their weaknesses and learned to live with it, I won't learn to live with those same weaknesses affecting games on the PC though. None of us should because the platform doesn't HAVE those weaknesses.

That's the very point everyone is trying to make. It needs to fucking stop. I refuse to stop "whining" about developers and publishers fucking over their customers. You wouldn't accept it from a store or any other company, so why is it okay for games? As for enjoying something for once, I love gaming - if I didn't love it then I wouldn't give a fuck about what happens to it. You've seen me constantly battling against others for my love of certain games that the rest all dislike, so yeah.. that was definitely not directed at me

Nope, it's not because of graphics. It's because of lies, false advertising (they have been promoting ds2 using these old screenshots/videos for a while now) and shameless impudence revealed once they got caught..
I wouldn't have a beef with them if they were honest with us. They were not. And what's more, when they got caught they got all defensive and they were like "nah, nothing is wrong,everything as intended, it's our vision, suck it up,oh, and we won't comment on this anymore, cheerio!"

There is a video labeled E3 2013, that shows real footage from that time, and newer screenshots, that were confirmed by the developer to show how the game now looks like on the PC, over a month before the PC release.

so again. At least let the comparsions be fair and not over saturated crap. And mcdonald comparison is just so bad.... If we were to judge games by this "false advertisement", like every game would be guilty. Like Gears of war bullsohts or bioshock first video... infinite examples.

Some of the screenshots on steam store are using lighting from older builds. If PC ends up looking like NOTHING from those shots, then yes those are false screenshots. Also known as false advertisement.

wait... I've just got throught the screenshots on steam and the game looks exactly like that on 360 - resolution and awful jaggies ofc. Maybe I am deceived by not having side by side comparisons but I think those screenshots or most of them are from retail

My bad i'm talking about trailers/videos, not the screenshots.
Look at the first video, top left, Go beyond death E3 2013, that's the infamous video with the lighting.

no. 360 version does not look like that. The parts where they take out the torch look the same, but everything else look much better in the video.
More shiny, specular, contrast is higher. There are no jaggies and resolution is higher + framerate is better so that cannot be consoles version. not possible. Maybe it indeed is pc !!! this would be incredible
but consoles version is not washed out. It looks nice and warm too and lighting is there(heavily reduced it seems) but in comparison to this, it might look bleak indeed.

Like I said though, they'd better deliver a flawless port this time. They've had a big mouth about PC being important ("lead" platform) and if it looks as shit as some images depict, there's no excuse for that not hitting 120 FPS even on low-end PCs. I shat all over Crytek for their bullshit before Crysis 3 and I will shit all over these guys if they don't live up to their words. I don't care how it looks, as long as it runs the way it should for however good or bad it looks. |

Sadly from what I can judge, it's not only different lighting, but missing debris on the floors, flatter and less detailed environments and less contrast due to the fact, that more general lights have been used instead of a heavier focus on multiple dynamic light sources 
And of course I'll get it aswell (still don't know if I should pirate, but most likely I'm going to suck it up and buy the game), but this shit is just saddening! Maybe they even got a call from Sony...

To me it's more like:
- game releases on consoles
- most console gamers love the game
- PC gamers and a small group of console gamers: "wait a minute, this doesn't look like it was supposed to 1 year ago, burn the scumbag developers!"
- the first group is like: " it's cool guys, the game is great, gameplay is what's important and it doesn't look that bad, don't be elitist assholes"
- the second group is like "burn the scumbag developers and stupid fanboys defending the dev/pub scumfuckery"
So yeah, to me it seems like the hate always comes first from the attacking group, not the defending group. But whatever. This forum has always been a hateful circlejerk and it will probably stay that way forever.

I do think people value different things in the game, as with everything. But i do agree that the whole experience is what makes this a good game. I just don't agree from my play though that it is so bad that you feel this isn't Dark Souls. I actually didn't think that at all. If people didn't have that demo to judge by they wouldn't either. But i have played this series more with default GFX than what DSFIX provided though, so i didn't really notice the difference from the first game to the second.
But people still raise a valid point. They have lied with announcing it with the kind of graphics they did and just silently stripping it away and hoping no one would notice.

Unless you can prove that they planned the downgrade from the start, there is no lie. They showed how the game looked back then and they showed with the screenshots how it looks now.
And to be honest, I didn't like the high-contrast dusty sun-burned desert look of the old build. If Dark Souls 2 on PC, compared to consoles, will look like DS1 Durante compared to DS1 consoles, then I will be satisfied.

You guys should listen to latest giant bombcast... they have dave lang developer in that epiaode and when they talk about that downgrade he burst laughing and says that they must have aimed to close to sun and then failed and ita laughable that people would think they are trying to deceiveggamers. He said that studio would never create assets just to deceive and then drop thwm. There is no point to that.
i say its either in pc version or they need to change screenshots
