Rzr vers works (sort of) just a black screen after the launcher (exe blocked in firewall). C++ runtimes installed an up to date and crack copied across. Any ideas?

Probably something to do with the cracktro that auto plays.

iirc VGACafe (not sure if that is spelt right) knew how to remove them with a hex edit or something.

Wasn't something specific, I had just loaded the gta4 executable in a debugger and disabled the call to the cracktro. Sadly, I haven't dled simcity, I don't like this kind of games. But surely someone here can patch that cracktro out.

Hmmm not so sure, cracktro plays, exits, then the Simcity logo appears on the screen briefly, then the Simcity launcher loads stating it is in single player mode, press play and the game starts to load but just a black screen with the pointer.

Hate to break it to you guys, but it works fine for me, Win8.1 x64. Cracktro plays, I press escape, game loads and everything is fine and dandy. Something might be off in your configuration.

You cannot block the exe with your firewall or it doesn't load.

I had the same Issue, but after i killed it in Taskmanager and tried again it worked like it should. Game is blocked and no Origin in background.

Strange then, my game would never load past the logo until i unblocked it from firewall. Would like to hear if others have theirs unblocked as well.

and all the stuff is there, as well as like culture buildings of different Countries. Is there any other stuff available we don't have now?

Doesn't work here, but I've blocked all outgoing connections.
I'm not unblocking the exe and this goes straight to the bin, welcome back SC4.
