Hello everyone,

Lately i have a problem that i just cant find a solution to it. My specs:

Asus P6T
Intel i7-920
6gb Ram
ASUS GTX660
5HDD+1cd+1ext hdd
Win7 64x
750W PSU

So what happens is this: i turn on the PC but i get nothing in the screen. The LED inside the box lights up and in the front it just goes on and off. It's like the system is trying to start but to no avail. Thing is, if i do a cmos clear it works again. At 1st i thought it was the battery and it turns out it was dead or dying. After replacing and clearing CMOS it worked. Next day again the same deal. I know that if i clear the CMOS it will work again. But this is not a viable solution. I cannot do this every time i want to operate the PC. Btw i have done stress tests on CPU, GPU and RAM and all turned out OK. So only thing left, i suppose, is the Mobo and the PSU.

I tried to test the PSU by using the famous trick with the paper clip and it seemed to run fine since everything booted up. Afterwards when i connected it back to the mobo i started the PC and it turned on! This time the led lights in front didnt blink and i could hear the components inside working but i still had no boot screen. So i cleared the cmos, only this time i didnt remove the battery like i HAD to do the previous times, by moving the jumper only and voila...the PC turned on just fine and booted.

I had the same problem again so i kinda did what i did previous time only this time i just removed the 24pin atx cable, then cleared the cmos by moving the jumper and then the pc worked!!But it wouldnt work if i left the 24pin cable on. Does this sound like a PSU or a mobo fault?

Thank you in advance.

Seems like sometimes you do walk alone Laughing

Hope you got it fixed. If not borrow a PSU and try with that first.

Could be either, but I'm placing my bet on the Mobo, just for a change Wink

Different PSU to plug in would be my first action, then you will know, one way or the other Smile
