I live in the middle of nowhere and I got 24mbit... It pwnz, could not even imagine anything better... oh well guess BBB 100/10 would be better after all....

I dont understand how you can get this kind of connection at home .
Please explain me how they do this . |
Whats so hard to understand about that? All cities got that fast here and ever some smaller places. Not to expencive to drag out a big wire and conect to a house. |
Well explain why ebay pay 10000 each month to get these kind of connection?
no hard to understand my ass . Why all hosting compagnies pay huge price for bandwith when you guy getting insane connection at home for a ridiculous price .
Im sure there is something you guys dont say about this , like u get this speed in your contry only or something like that .

Cause ebays servers are in us? We are among the most high tech countries. I can get 100mbit both ways for about $40 a month, that bandwith isnt much for a webpage like ebay or hosting companies.
A piece of wire isnt expencive to lay out, its really cheap so why should it be at ridiculous price? Atleast i have no problem understanding it.
Nope that speed is not just local for our country, it mostly depends on the webpage we surf to but many servers outside sweden can go at good speeds but mostly their slower then local servers. But even if its just within sweden we would get that speed that wouldnt be bad anyway, most thing (like 90%) of what i do is through swedish webpages.

ok , i see . ITs all clear now .
Like a page need a 10/10 connection .
This connection are almost INTERNET2 , and its use by bussiness .
I really doubt this is true .
Please go at http://www.dslreports.com/ and proove me you got these speed .
Just copy paste the result of speed test .
One of my friend already tested a 10/10 from job and its working fine .

It really depends on towards wich server i test it. Like testing against a us server i dont get more then 2/.250 couse your servers aint faster. On local servers i get all from 8/8 up to 28/27 (mbit ofcourse). When i download patches from MS orWoW for example i download for up to 1,3Mb/s. Downloading from swedish ppl on DC/FTP etc i can download up to 3-4Mb/s. So it all depends on from who, if i download from you i would never max my bandwith, i could like downlod from 200+ ppl with your bandwith and max all your guys upload speed, if my comp could handle 200+ downloads at same time that is.

Yes , i understand .
About your upload speed , you should have no problem to upload at 10 on any test server . You should have no problem to upload at 1mb/sec to most test server on dlsreport , if your up to do it , ill be happy to see that .
Or any others with this kind of connection .
btw , we already tested a connection of 10/10 here on this site a long time ago and it was working , so the server is fast .

But maybe you right anyway , you wont ever get this kind of speed on us server because all server are too slow and not made for this kind of home mad connection speed .
So what you are telling me is if you donwload from many servers in the us , your gonna get the speed .

If you don't trust us with our speeds lets give some examples.
Here is the webpage of a small ISP in sweden and they offer 10/10mbit connection for 195SEK/month. Lets calculate that:
195/7.50 (average currency ok SEK in dollar atm) = 26USD...

The ISP this thread is about is named bredbandsbolaget and on their wesite there is a little link that gives this page:
http://www.bredband.com/portal/PRIVAT_BREDBAND_LAN_BREDBAND+100
It is also in swedish but if you look at it you will see that they mention 10mbit and 100mbit. Long story short: " Vi kommer att fram till juni 2006 höja hastigheten i vårt nät. Det innebär att vi kommer att ge dig upp till 100 Mbit/s nedströms och upp till 10 Mbit/s uppströms." means "We will increase the speed in our net in juny 2006. This means you will get 100mbit download and 10mbit upload speed".
The price for that is the same as the current 10/10 connection, 320SEK/month.
Enough? 
About speeds and stuff, gamershell has gigabit server and if one is lucky and downloads something from there when there is few people downloading I will almost max out my 24mbit. It will flatten out at about 2.7mb/s from their NL based gigabit server.

On 2 swedish servers i tested on with a test program (www.tptest.com) i got an upload on 24.62 and 26.37 and an download on 28.74 and 28.23 (Mbit that is) and i got 30/30. The one you know who got 10/10 on test, let him do a test on a server far away like a euro server and you will se the difference.
On a norweigan server "Nedlastingshastighet: 10409 kbit/s"
On the server "Located at Geneva, Switzerland; 1000 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) network connection " i got:
running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . . 2.07Mb/s
running 10s inbound test (server to client) . . . . . . 7.00Mb/s
A UK server
Downstream 7239 Kbps (904.9 KB/sec) 7818 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 1219 Kbps (152.4 KB/sec) 1316 Kbps (inc. overheads)
So as you se i get fastest speed localy in sweden, euro servers go pretty fast aswell and then over the sea to america it goes a bit slower. But as long as i max my speed through sweden i really dont care what i get in us couse i download dvd games on 4Gb in under 15min and thats enough for me.

This is in swedish for all that use broadbandsbolaget.
Vet inte om jag har hört fel men är det så att BBB har dålig speed till personer från andra länder? Tex. när jag använder toreents så får jag skitdålig speed (som mäst 30kb/sek) medans när jag använder torrents från sverige så går dte skitsnabbt. Några som haft samma problem? har 24/1 mbit bbb.
