Yeah be careful with them, after all it's easy to snag an account back on an MMO. I'd take a risk with other games, but an MMO never. I just rather be safe than sorry. Smile

How is it possible to lose an account that is bought on a cdkey website?
I bought one today and registered it with my email, so everything should be safe (i hope)

You can't get your account stolen with a bought key by its previous owner, as their is no previous one.

BUT you might get your account disabled by the developer/publisher for using a key from no authorized seller.
I know it happend in Guild Wars 2, and probably other MMOs too.
That's why i never buy keys from those sites ever. Nothing worse than suddenly losing your account you put many hours in Surprised

You can easily turn an account by having the CD-key. Which these resellers do have. It doesn't happen often, but it can happen. And I'm not comfy with having someone else having access to my CD-key that is tied to my account. Smile

Ah I did it either way, I've bought from providers like that before with no issues and my friend had recently used the service for another game, so I'm not concerned.

Plus, with a name like cdkeys.com how could it be bad Razz!?

omg this is priceless :

so back in february i ordered the Imperial Edition for 120 swiss francs. (using a coupon to reduce it by 30 CHF from it's original price of 150 CHF)

the 3.4. i cancelled that order, because they would only send it the 4th itself and they didn't even gave me a headstart code (i mean come on).

Now they reimbursed me ...

150.40 CHF (i payed 120.40 CHF with coupon). So .. taking in account that i payed 32€ (or roughly 40CHF) for the game ...

Guess i got TESO for 10CHF/8€ Smile

Still can't wrap my head around the skill system. You have a bunch of skills for you class. 3 different type, and then you have specific weapons as well. Not really sure how they mean us to mix it all for an optimal build. Dragonknight 2 hander is what i'm playing atm.

Fuck this. Need a break. Having horrible dps with my dragon knight once i reached level 10. Charge in with critifal strike, knock the target down with an earth ability and use uppercut and normal hits, and my dps is simply shit.

Have you looked at skill morphing? I don't know if thats specific to magic type people but it enhances abilities you already have.

And I LIKE the idea of so much choice... there might well not BE an 'optimal' build - after all, that would be one step away from all players being identical, which I believe is a good thing IMO.

I definitely approve of the combat in this game now - yes it is a little annoying when you attack before you target... but then I suppose they have to have some compromise to allow the game engine to process hits correctly.

Gotta say tho... I'm somewhat underwhelmed by the graphics... Dunno if it's just me, but compared to a number of recent MMO's, they seem very washed out and somehow lifeless.

There's a few areas you need to consider. First, you need to be able to counter heavy melee, spells, and AoE. Heavy melee is simply blocking, spells is blocking with bash, and AoE is dependent on abilities (for example, 1H has Power Bash). It's good to have charge attacks in many of these cases, knockback in others. Some bosses are immune to those, however, so you may have to improvise.

Second thing to consider is resource management. Stamina and mana are your lifeblood and must be managed appropriately. There are many abilities that restore these through synergy - if you have them, get them, if not, be sure to activate when your allies use them. These resources are equivalent to DPS and if you run out, so does your DPS. It's common for players to spam their resource-heavy DPS skills before running dry and then dying; that's newb shit.

You say DK but not level, you get the 2nd weapon at level 15 but keep in mind it can be the same weapon. 2H/2H? Yes. If your goal is to do melee DPS, that's not the worst idea. You should plan for three weapons total if you're a combat expert, IMHO, but you should also plan for same weapon combos when you are fulfilling a very specific role. It's true that 2H isn't the panacea to get you huge DPS unless you have multiple targets, though. You should supplement with more universal abilities - make sure to have 2/3 or 3/2 of stam/mana abilities on a hotbar.

Change SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "0"

to SET MIP_LOAD_SKIP_LEVELS "-3"

this will keep the LOD at distance to full texture loading only. meaning a horse or armor at far will look as good as it would if up next to you.

but yeah running game on ultra settings and I see no reason for sweetfx right now Smile

With NVIDIA cards I disable AA in-game and force FXAA with Nvidia Inspector for superior performance and quality. That should probably work for SweetFX, too (FXAA Usage: allowed).

when i disable AA in game, the Radeonpro way "works on paper", but not "actually". i.e. it tells me ingame "sweetfx on" or "off" when i press the key i assigned to it, but there is no visual difference whatsoever.

Got an ability from the dps tree which slashes for a nice amount and applies a dot which does damage as well, it helped massively so i guess i'm back on track!

Sharing my experience for those who care:
GMG Imperial edition and moosenoodles 20% voucher (Thank you Mr. KindSir) 64 Bucks and had key immediately. Downloading client on the other hand took all night. Resorted to torrent and folder dropping and then starting installer again but installer caught up in the home stretch so torrent was not needed. I can't promise that I wont lose my account later but so far these key stores have been 100 percent reliable and like I said I had the key the second I checked out didn't even have to wait for an email. I did however have to sign up for an additional month but don't believe I was charged. I had enough on the card to not worry (paypal actually) but something you may need to consider if money is tight.
Off to create a character. I'm excited because last MMO I was involved in was Everquest Alpha/Beta many moons ago. I owned a PC LAN business so I boycotted WoW because it took my regular patrons away and I was bitter.

Review update:

After at least 30 hours of playing, I'm still enjoying the game. The negatives also start to bug me more though The lack of inventory space is still pretty annoying and loot drops are still ridiculous - they better fix this SOON. Getting a single gold piece even against level 15 enemies is beyond ridiculous - loot is supposed to go UP with the levels. Having to kill 45.000 enemies to be able to afford a horse ... are you fucking shitting me?

Beyond this, quests are entertaining and solid - the guy at RPS who said ESO was a "humourless experience" should fuck off and open his damn eyes. Loads of quests have a comical edge.

what i really love is the sheer amount of lore and dialogue (that you actually want to listen to and not skip through like in other mmo's). It really becomes quite immersive the more you play.
