Patch helped alot!! Game runs much smoother now and with fewer glitches!

but after the patch you must use SR7.Stop to run this game , becoz this patch blacklists the patched exe from anti-blaxx 1.16

ok I have :
installed it with newest daemontools. Hidden my virtual drives with SR7.STOP. I get ""Original disc could not be found or authenticated""
Ive tried mounting it in Alcohol and using Virtual CD Hide and I still get ""Original disc could not be found or authenticated""
if I disable SR7 or Virtual CD hide I get the emulation error so its working...its just working to well!!
they seem to hide the disc so the game wont find it..
Ive tried D-tools - SR7
D-tools - virtual cd hide
alcohol - SR7
alchol - virtual CD hide
nothing works. If I dont hide I get the emulation error and if I DO hide I get the "Original disc could not be found or authenticated"
Ive also tried to change compatibility to windows 2000... still "Original disc could not be found or authenticated"
WHAT THE HELL TO DO?

My method: SR7_stop and Alcohol.
Some people say it crashes due to SecuROM 7 but I think it's a driver issue. |
Hmm... don't know why it'd crash, but try this:
Download Daemon Tools 3.47
Mount with D-Tools
Set the game to Win 2k compatibility mode (on XP)
That's all I had to do to get it working (no virtual hiding crap, but try SR7_stop if necessary.) For me it shows a spinning CD icon, then launches and plays perfectly.
If it's crashing like that, it sounds like an overclocking issue or a driver issue though. If the above doesn't work, try updating or downgrading your vid card drivers. If that doesn't work try disabling some of the game's advanced video options.
Specs:
P4 2.4 > 2.66
512mb DDR
Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB
Win XP SP2
1024x768 with default settings runs @ about 40fps average, sometimes drops to low 20s, sometimes jumps to 60s, has gone above 100 a few times.

Always check for temps of CPU and GPU. Clean dust out of both fans/heatsinks. Game never crashed for me. Latest official drivers.

when you use sr7 stop.. you have to click hide then CLOSE the program.. then run the FEAR exe... have you been doing that.
Im using A120 latest and sr7 stop and its fine.. not needed to change compatability either.

Umm i running fine on P4 2.7 and radeon 9800 pro you should disable antialiasing aniso and crap that makes it run slower like high qualiry shadows, just sellect medium in options and something. It wont look much whorse if u turn it off.

yea it at the beginning of the game when you come driving in with the car, which was also a total jerk-o-rama....
this is on the highest settings though, and I tried turning of soft shadowing but the framerate stays exactly the same...

Get rid of the shadows at all. It boosts the game nicely.
Athlon 2000+, R9800 Pro, 1GB runs in 1280x1024, 2xAA, no shadows, everything set @max except medium settings of texture resolution.

But the shadows actually are used pretty well in the game, don't wanna a get rid of them.

Well that's the problem. I just can't look at the games without AA and in low rez. I can sacrifice the shadows if I have to choose.

after I installed the patch my framerate double from 15 to 30, but I noticed something missing lol, so I go to options, ah it seems the patch disables shadows... (no not soft shadows)
correct me if Im wrong.... :s

Some new drivers for Nvidia cards, contains some FEAR fixes and stuff for 7800GTX cards, gonna try 'em right now.

Niice. They fixed it. In next patch they will boost speed even more by disabling graphics completely

after installing 1.01 patch, and the new nvidia drivers, game runs much smoother, I`ve got 6800gt amd 64 3000+ and 512 ram
4xAA 1152x864 shadows set to medium, all other stuff to max
