First I'm not sure if its right thread (but this has more posts than others)
Second I have just tried launching FEAR (alcohol clone).
From what I can see, everybody are talking about SR7 Stop, VirtualCD hide, Antiblaxx etc.
I didn't use any of them, and game runs ok.
I've mounted image in daemon tools (no emulation checked), digged this info about Total overdose protection workaround:

3. Right click the folder, and click PERMISSIONS.
4. Click on ADMINISTRATORS
5. Look for the READ box, and unselect DENY
6. Click OK
7. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\Scsi
8. Find daemons port (d374prt)
9. Right click the folder and click PERMISSIONS , click on ADMINISTRATORS and select DENY , click OK and exit that's all |
Then I disabled my dvd/cd drives with SFN and it works.
To sum up:
1. Mount image with daemon
2. Do the registry thing
3. Use SFN
4. Start the game.
Hope that will help some1.

gunsy and Damage1757 do you have windows 2000 as well? It seems to me that everyone who has the game working has windows XP. I can't imagine I have done something wrong like you said its really not that complicated.
Rzooq I have tried what you reccamended do you have windows XP ? Because when I do this

I dont have the option to click PERMISSIONS when I right click on the folder. I assume its an XP feature

Got XP prof.
When I hide my virtual disc, the thing says that it can't find a original disc. When hide is off, he just says that there is a emulation program on.

In the FEAR.EXE
There is a section for .TEXT .RDATA .DATA .SHARED .RSRC .INIT .SECUROM
When you open it with a decompiler...what about the securom section...pretty weird also

Got the same, then I used SFN to disable my dvdrw and cdrw drive and it works. |

okayyy i got SFN and installed it but i told it to disable my cd/dvd roms
it did but it kepy my virtual drive and then bsod'd my computer wen i tried launchin fear .................... **cough cough**

there should be an error code in your bsod write it down and search the net you should be able to find out why it happened and hopefully remedy it

i sorted bsod'n problem wen i look in my
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\MountedDevices i can see a list of pretty much every drive i've ever had mounted and thats wot the launcher is detecting emulation software
in theory since there not there any more am i okay to remove them without fucking up anything coz i'm not 1 to tinker with reg i always seem to kill somthing

Hey does anyone here know about "Last Known Good Configuration" ? Damage, I thinki that you could mess with the registry and if you mess anything up you can stick in your win XP cd and go to your "last known good configuration" and it would be as if you never even messed with the Reg.
Having never done that myself I cant say with 100% certinty but im almost positive it will work. Perhaps someone else here knows

hmmm http://support.microsoft.com/kb/223188 I donno about messing with that, definatly dont mess with your main drive letters like C, D etc. I dont know what the stuff above it is though, like in my case in the same folder in my registry I also have \??\Volume{389352c4-3eb6-11da-950a-00609778c9e9}
I have 5 drives listed, 3 of those are hard drives one is my dvd burner and the 5th must be my emulated drive I also have 5 of those \??\Volumeblablablabla things listed. I wonder what would happen if I removed the 5th \??\Volume thing and the 5th drive.
I would asume that my registry would think that the drive is gone and I would probably need to reinstall it.. (shrug)

iaang what gunsy is refering to is Serious Sam 2 I think dude was saying There is NoDVD for version for Serious Sam 2 and gave him the link, Gunsy tried it and now Serious Sam 2 works.
I don't think he ever got FEAR to run though.

OK, I got thepoint...but how am I suppose to solve this damn problem I have with F.E.A.R.?....Could anyone please help me?

Nope, Serious Sam 2 works now, but with that no dvd crack
FEAR isn't working. And it should work with a no dvd crack, since i had the same problem with Serious sam.

if any1 has the SFN program u should try it its the closest you will get to launching it you will have to remove all generic drivers from your comp
and all the software
uninstall fear and remove it from your comp completly
mount the image and install fear
launch SR7.Stop_1.0 so it hides ur drive
launch sfn and wait for 2 mins
click hide CD rom and HIDE node
close SR7.Stop_1.0 and launch game
if it fails set program compatibility to windows 2000
it involvs alot of pissing about but will run a lil laggy
try that 1 worked for me

Honestly, I've become sick and tired of all this advices that proved to be a hoax to me...I tried ALL, I went even in the Registries, I followed the instructions STEP by STEP and all I have received was "original disc could not be found..." or "emulators detected..." or "please insert original disc...".
Should the crack won't come out in a couple of days, I''ll buy the damn game!

i have tryied everything what users said, but i can get feac tor work. is there coming to nodvd crack. i had fear.mdf file about 4,3 gigabytes, what program that is made? how can i burn it to dvd and get it work. Is there some group making that crack. Allways get some error to loungth that file. Help me i wanna play that game, was that worth to dl that at all
