Fuckin' wild mages. I am so glad I made an extra save before picking Neera up. I went from 90,000 gold to 20,000 because of some random shit that happens with her when she casts a spell.

Enhanced! Smile

Seriously though, I'd recommend staying away from the Reckless Dweomer spell to avoid that 100% chance of a wild surge effect when using it. In fact, I'd stay away from wild mages period to take away any chance of a wild surge Smile

Although I guess it would have been funny if you would have rolled a sex change instead of destroying the gold Laughing

Is the first one worth 7.50? I can't judge whether these guys deserve that much for that effort.

If it's about supporting them, then I'd say yes, they're some of the original developers and longtime modders of the game, not some randoms trying to cash in.

Plus, more patches are due to come out and a full-fledged adventure it seems Very Happy

I'm currently in my bg2ee playthrough in spellhold, this game is huuuge.

It is bigger than I remember. Finished SaO and ToB in about 70 hours total. Thats knowing the secrets n tricks etc. Wouldnt be surprised if a first timer took 100 hrs.

Throne of Baal is a bit more compact but it will take time to finish it, it's also geared towards high level characters so you will be fighting much tougher opponents.

I completed ToB in 8 hours. It's pretty tiny compared to the main game.

BG2EE is 75% off if anyone cares. I don't know if it's worth it or not though.

They've been working on patch 1.3 for BGEE, which is basically done and releasing quite soon.
They've already started working on a patch for BG2EE, but it looks like they wanted to do BGEE first, as they are bringing some of the improvements from the sequel to the original.

Are there any serious bugs though? i'm 40-50'ish hours in BG2 and havent seen any so far.

I really like how it's now a lot faster to loot bodies, that was always really boring.

I've been reading some forums, BG2EE doesn't seem to do so well. It appears they've stopped updating the game altogether also, so bugs are still present. It's the internets though, so opinions are probably skewed.

According to Kanint (post above mine) they're working on patches.

Anyways, i'm 60h in and i have not noticed anything bad.. most/all of the bigger mods are also compatible with the EE versions now, i don't get the hatered at all.

Yep, this is the last released patch for BG2 EE.

Almost both game on stem sale, until I realized that they are really slacking with patches.

I haven't had issues with the game, but considering how big of a game it is, it wouldn't be hard for me to avoid critical bugs even tho they exist.
Still, if people are worried about stability, I would personally say the game is stable.

In regard to patches:
Patch 1.3 for BGEE is done, at this point they're asking the beta testers if there's anything left to report, or if the patch should be released as-is: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/31838/the-road-to-v1-3-bg-ee-phase-iv

BG2EE will also get a 1.3 patch; it seems to contain a lot of minor fixes. Their plan is to release it by the end of august.

There are some annoying glitches like NPCs playing their fucking selection dialogue over the voiceovers, totally ruining the immersion/atmosphere. And autopause at black screen is also annoying.

Changing the font size will probably be a big deal for some people.

Also these two interest me greatly:
- Journal entries no longer disappear when scrolling the Journal screens
- Characters wielding ranged weapons that deplete their current stack of ammunition will now automatically use the next stack of equipped ammo if it is the same type; if no stack of the same type is available, they will use the next available stack of non-magical ammunition

Also, I don't use pickpocket but daaaaamn:
- Pick-Pocket skill no longer resets to zero when raised above 255
