they have released games for years Starforcefan thus they know more about this then you. If you don't like that you have to do a little extra work to get this release working then buy the game otherwise be happy with what you get. It works and if you just add the two lines of text to the file that is needed then you would be enjoying quake 4 right now with no worries.

no no , you are not gonna tell to not say this crack is incomplete .

No you said they cracked this kind of check for years .

Thats not the question, you knew perfectly what I meant.

Now go masturbate and feel satisfied instead of bitching about a crack which you apparently dont know what is and a game you expressed as: Shitty.

What can we do if we dont have a firewall?

Add "127.0.0.1 q4master.idsoftware.com" to your hosts file (Start > Run > notepad %SystemRoot%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts)

Thats a very retarded salution from deviance, if you block exe with firewall you wont be able to play mp.

How do you plan to play mp with an invalid key?

Works perfectly via direct ip connect.

How can the game tell me I don't have Open AL support on my soundcard? I have a damn Audigy zs with latest drivers, shouldn't this be supported.
Didn't Doom 3 have problems with surround sound aswell? Seem to recall something about that?

Audigy 2 ZS drivers (non-beta's) don't have Open AL support. Go to the soundblaster website and download the latest beta drivers (also the most recent drivers) which add it in.

Actually that's the drivers I use. Gonna try and set my sound to 5.1 in the control panel ( I have 7.1) This worked for Doom.

i told ya activision was the only one to use safedisc without all features enabled... strange to see the keeping this approach now that it's evident that is a suicide
call of duty 2 is coming from activision too... it's already gold so they probably used the same kind of safedisc as here... my bet safedisc will continue to remain uncracked till co2 popup and pam... cracked version

So what exactly will happen if I don't block it with the firewall or host file? Will id software get my IP and contact my internet provider, get my address, and send the Strogg to decapitate me and and blow up my apartment?

Or will the game just not start?

Definatly everything I hoped for. It's good. Very good. Multiplayer is a fun combo between Quake 2 and Quake 3. Singleplayer is if you took Quake 2 and Call of Duty then threw in Doom 3 graphics. Kinda wished the nailgun was closer to the Quake 1 one though, but can't complain about anything else.

Must say though that the game is seriously optimized.

P4c 2.6gig
1gig PC3200
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128meg
SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS

Game runs silky smooth on 1024x768 on High settings.

And I guess the Quake 4 marines figured out how to duct tape a limitless power flashlight to a gun which is useful for a few parts.

Great game id. Fuck pc gamer and the 70% review.

Hmm i think it looks better than FEAR, but i could only run fear on medium and still was lagging, my specs arent low p4 3ghz, 9800 pro with 128 mbs, and 2gigs of ram, but quake 4 is very smooth, everthing is on high, and im liking it. Good game.
