as for the game:
It's linear, it's point and shoot, enemies don't use much AI, it's Quake 4, and I love it!

Well i have a P4 2.4, 1gig of ram, Radeon 9800 pro O/C 9800 XT and the game run like shit. Everything at low in 640x480 and i get like 15fps if im lucky so dont expect to have better performance with your putter.

playing with p43.2, i gig RAM, 9800xt everything high, 1152 x 864, AA off and the game runs swell!

Game runs smoothly here, with no problems everything on high including AA. It's the same engine as doom so it's really optimized for Nvidia.
The game itself is really good. I didn't even suspect Raven disappointing us. Graphics are good as usual, Doom 3 engine still in it's best. Sound is superb, and voice acting as well. And gameplay is good 'ol Quake. Good rls.

because gfx is more than the engine it runs on. its also layout and map design, which in this case gamespot thought fear had a pretty bland, metallic, repetetive feel to it. 9 is still very good obviously. and this is only gamespots view anyway.

anyone tried the keygen? It doesnt work here. It says that the keys are invaled. Is it just me or are ther other people having problems whit the keys generated by the keygen?

the kets generated by the keygen will be good for installing and running the game.. however, if the q4 authentication server scans the key, it will be invalid. This is why you need to either block q4 from accessing the internet with your firewall, or edit the hosts file as mention umpteen times in this thread. The keygen will NOT give you a working cd key for online play, unless you are super-lucky and it generates a key that matches a valid ID key.

got the agem, installed and played it, acyually it runs quite fast
loadtimes in Sp are a bit long, but no stuttering, only a framerate somehwat below normal
got settings on medium quality, res : 1280x1024
MP runs fast to , but thats cause i'm te only one in my server 
i can't seem to find games, even if i restore the internet connection when i'm in main menu

yep you need to do the trick for single play.. cd key is checked before you even get to the main menu.
so just block q4 with your firewall... although i think it's better just to edit the hosts file.

well i put cdkey in, installed, copied crack over and launched game then error pops saying "sorry Q4 has encountered a prob please close" on Quake4.exe, have the host files and bl;ocked in Zonealarm, lol
shall retry install

I blocked the 2 entries from the start, copied crack over clonecd release with serial from cloneCD and I havent seen any Key checks ingame yet.

I use the XP firewall which has always worked fine in the past. But when I start Quake 4 there's nothing that pops up that lets me block it from the Internet like there should be. I tried resetting the firewall back to defaults and rebooting but the problem still exists. Does anyone else have this problem? I also installed Punkbuster during setup, could this be why?

XP firewall can only handle inbound traffic I think. Not sure if you can use this... but I guess someone will tell me I'm wrong in like 15 minutes.
Modify your hosts-file instead, easier =) See page 1 of this thread or something.
