Use a heavy shield so that you can take their hits continuously without it draining all your stamina while also trying to keep your distance to avoid the fire breaths, and to not stand in the middle of all of them. Sneak in attacks now and then if one comes at you or if you have an excellent chance whenever to get a hit or 2 at multiple. Just take it slow as hell.

Paxsali at the place with the eagle after running up the dead tree, there is a knight at the end of the road and you just walk through and have to fight some undead until you get out of the "trap". If you talk to him again he'll give you a normal sized soap stone as reward.

@lolo: the fuck did you do to image sharpness? +400%? Laughing

After playing some more hours after dinner, I think I can safely say that level design got more interesting. There's enough variety at least, and environments rarely repeat themselves (although some of them seem copy-pasted from DS1..but it's fine).

The bad news though is, bosses are letting me down , a lot!
They're nowhere as epic, terrifying and inspired as DS1's bosses were, too many humanoids and cheap tricks. Also, I absolutely detest multiple bosses. And the game is full of them Mad

It seems to me that this aspect has been designed to favor co-op instead of solo (I only play offline), and it's quite disappointing to be honest. Doesn't really ruin the game, but still, the devs could have come up with better solutions. Razz

vanguard is easy. They are slow and you just evade them while finding opportune moments to hit the boss.

Yea I found it too. Now I'm looking at its config screen ingame, but none of the settings seem to change anything? Looks just like before. Do I need to dl something else?

In case you're still interested, I tried this preset before and it worked: http://www.nexusmods.com/darksouls2/mods/16/?
(unfortunately my poor 570 can't handle all the enhancements and had to disable it in order to keep a decent framerate)

HOW THE FUCK can some people hit and stagger me with swords through my 100% physical block shield wtf!

My shield is up, and sometimes people just spam their fast attack and after the first hit my shield goes down and every hit after that hits me Rage

Oh god, lagger fags in pvp

100% physical only means you dont get chip damage from physical attacks, it doesnt have anything to do with stagger, probably the shield has low poise.

Fuck this game, seriously, 2-3 hits away from finishing off the sentry boss and he hits me THROUGH THE INDESTRUCTIBLE FUCKING WOODEN STRUCTURE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROOM.

This is such bullshit, enemies can hit you through indestructible solid objects? Seriously?

I'm fine with bosses being tough until you learn their behaviour, I'm not fine with bullshit fucking hitboxes.

Fuck's sake FROM.

How the fuck do I do coop play with friends?

I have the small white soapstone, but it's always grayed out, so I can't use it. And no, I'm not hollow, this is while being in human form.

you can't. There are tricks though but is it worth it ? I don't think so.

google "dark souls 2 how to play with friends" for hacks.

---

the most screwed up thing was that I had 10 000 souls at the beginning and no level up option. Of course I had to google that you have to find a certain lady in majula and spam her to unlock the option

I take it your avoiding the dialogue then? For future reference most NPC's have useful things if you exhaust their dialogue, either revealing services or giving items. Smile

you can, buy the engraved name ring from the cat in majula, then decide with your friend on a bonfire, both of you teleport there, then with the engraved name ring equipped choose a god from the list and leave the sign with the white soapstone.
your friend should be at the same bonfire and should choose the same god as you after equipping the ring. he will see your sign and be able to summon you a few secs later.

Just fought Ruin Sentinels, went solo, took down all three while taking only 3 hits. Laughing

2 of those hits were bullshit though, but fuck it, another annoying boss falls before me.

Playing Swordsman BTW, trying to make him a melee beast.

I actually didn't find it that hard, only had to do it 4-5 times.
The trick is in staying close to the legs, when he start screaming with one head (to spit the webs or to lunge forward) circle to the other way around and attack the other head (just a heavy hit) the roll again anti clockwise. Repeat until dead, the boss announces his attacks with ample time.

I'm using a high str/armor/tower shield build, but didn't use the shield for this fight. Mobility is key.

you dont even have to circle, when he raises himself up to do the laser attack, just run beneath him to the other side and smack him in the but hole.
