I guess this is the special fog effect used as dust when opening doors. Don't know where cloth comes in, there's barely anything moving here.

There's no FOV option but it felt wide enough here. I'm sensitive to both head bobbing and low FOV, usually makes me sick in a matter of minutes. Seems to be set to 90 if I'm reading the ini correctly.

Why the fuck is there chromatic aberration in these shots? Laughing Laughing

Bloom was popular a couple of years ago, now I guess other post-processing effects have taken over. Razz
(Although in the above screens the effect is way to pronounced.)

Should be possible to disable it however, if the ini files are available for editing or the command console. Smile

3. Repeat ~7 times

Decided to get a refund for Daylight on steam. Very useful option to have before games are released Smile

I'm not paying for a tech demo of UE4 if they can't be bothered to make a game as well.

Gonna get Child of Light instead.

There was an update released today but nothing substantial changed.

I watched some alpha footage yesterday and the levels are not nearly as unique and the whole vibe is...no, that PAX build gives a better impression even now after I beat the final version.

edit: just tried the UE4 demos. Now I know what the hell "ShooterGame" banners and files meant in Daylight's folders lol ..and the update removed the files lol

I think its good for some jump scares ( like slender ), but after you beat 2 levels with collecting x pages and running away from the shadows it becomes boring...Too bad all the new horror games seem to copy that shit: Collect x things while something is chasing you that grows stronger the more things you collect...

Just done the same, will save the money for that Outlast sequel/expansion when it comes out.

So then I take it that's basically the entire game going by the previous discussions in this thread?

You start, get some background info and hunt for more via pieces of paper scattered around, can use flares and other light sources to reveal where exactly the special collectibles are and by finding all those you get a relic which must be carried to the goal, while avoiding stuff like cheap scares and whatever else the game puts in your way.

Well, this sounds and looks like a complete failure. Not that I wasn't expecting it, but still. Y u no steal good ideas instead of the bad ones? Crying or Very sad

Slender was a bad horror game in my opinion, because it didn't manage to build up tension and when scares become cheap, everything falls into monotony. A good horror game must keep the player always on the edge, feed him with momentum and surprise him when he least expects it..but with style and great level design. I'll try the ISOdemo anyway, if only for Chobot's fancy writing skills xD
