Sometimes it sucks to have a truth-principle. You know - "You should always tell the truth to those close to you".
There is a saying; if you always tell the truth, nothing in your life will go wrong.
Well, whoever said that, probably died for calling his father bald.
The truth dilemma is really a bitch, for instance - what do you say if your friend (who otherwise is a likeable guy) asks you if he's really whiny and bitchy (which he is) - and wants you to answer truthfully.
You know for sure he'll be all whiny and bitchy if you tell him the truth, and if you don't - he'll be glad, and satisfied for at least a couple of hours (who am I kidding? Minutes!)
Then when it comes to parents, it's all the same again.
"How is your life, how are you holding up, you haven't been doing <x and y negative thing>, have you?"
You know if you tell the truth, you'll be hearing shit for weeks to come, about responsibility (basically every fucking thing they said when you still lived at home, starting at age 14).
And then there's the worst of them.
And that's concerning your girlfriend.
If she says: "Do you think I'm the hottest, most beautiful, and most wonderful girl in the world?"
You're supposed to say "YES", because if you tell the truth - you're in for a whole world of hurt.
There's probably at least one who is hotter, another who is more beautiful, and perhaps someone who is more wonderful.
There are more of these questions your close ones can ask, and it's always a fucking truth dilemma.
How do you handle these situations?
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Well, a "white" lie to spare someone's feelings, make someone feel better, brighten their day up etc is ok in my book ya know?
Of course if ur woman ask's u if she's the hottest girl in the world, u should say yes ya know? And mean it at the same time...well, that applies more to a wife than a girlfriend I think.
And it also depends on the person. Personally, I dont mind being told something negative about me if I ask for someone's truthful opinion - as long as its done in a respectful, constructive way.
But lots of ppl are dfferent.
If i were in the friend situation u mentioned, I'd be straight up with my bwoy...Ive never fought with a friend when Ive told them the truth, even if it was something bad. However, when i've lied/they've lied, we've fought...lies between friends is something I nor my friends stand for.
Cuz ur boys are like a whole different thing/family. U cant tell ur family everything, u cant tell ur woman everything - but ur boys, thats different because they should accept u no matter what u say and how u feel and there should never be lies between friends...unless it something completely fuckin wacked out, but i think u know what i mean/
Maybe its me but thats how i take friendship. I have friend's who are closer to me and have stuck by me through more shit than my family has, more than anyone.
But still, all in all, a white lie doesnt hurt - but i still saying lying to friends is something that should never be doe.
