EA are pretty bad when it comes to electronic media, but next to to mass polluting oil companies and investment giants ala jpmorgan with their carbon offsetting scams, they look like boy scouts.

True but I can imagine being voted worst company in the world might finally have something to say, it appears so. I guess I'm just trying to stay positive, the coming months will prove if EA can hold their vows of becoming a better firm. |
Not really. They're pushing franchises out the window. Doesn't mean they'll be good Look at what happened to ME DA Sy DS and NFS... rushed games. ME could've been goty if it werent rushed. DA could've been goty if it werent rushed. Sy could've been an average game if it weren't rushed. DS could've been fantastic if EA didn't go micro on it to get more money. SC5 could've been epic if EA didn't get greed. NFS could've been a good game.
EA wants to make money fast. Their quality assurance is horrible.
If they change that around then yes EA will be as good as they were before. But I don't see that happening. They're too money driven. After the hype PvZ got last e3... they developed a shooter that NO ONE will play after 4 months. Money well spent. Peggle 2... will be f2p.
as much as i'm happy to see mirrors edge 2... I really don't think they'll be able to get the level of gameplay that made ME good.
It's been too long and I really think it's just there to get people back to EA... not really there to release a new mirrors edge. and that's really a terrifying thought.

Hey hey, I'm not denying that EA has done alot of damage on great franchises. And may even still do with (namely with PVZ2 which is a huge setback compared to the first one). And if they were that money driven wouldnt they just continue to use that horrid DRM system, which they have discontined on all existing products aswell as future ones. But who knows, this might be a quick "good rep" scheme.

pc gamers don't buy drm driven games
so that's why they dropped it.
If ea releases quality games... then they're ok in my book. but they haven't in the past few years.

it is, but it's not as mainstream as cod. it wishes it were as popular as cod. i wish it were as popular as cod. it would've been a fantastic competitor. but as it stands bf3 is for completely different target audience and slowly that audience is dropping. there is new flesh here and there but it isn't substantial.
I wish BF3 got that push COD did. I wish EA didn't change the BF model into a COD model. If you look at BF3 how it started and how it came out, to what it is now... it's essentially the lesser cod. and that's the EA model now for BF. Emulate success and get money. I really wish BF3 had that extra few months before release to iron out all the kinks they've been working at post release. But it really became EA's cod. And it just isn't as popular right now. I really wish it were. It deserves the fame. it annihilates cod in ever aspect, it just doesn't have the fanbase. and EA will do anything to get that fanbase and it might hurt the BF franchise in the end. And i see it now with bf4... going after the graphics rather than expanding on the gameplay and adding more features / content that is known for in other generic shooters. More weapons and vehicles doesn't add that especially since at the end every player has 4 - 5 weapons they'll use religiously.
I don't think I've seen their sports engine in action... I must've missed out on all the great sports presentation at e3... but fifa has been dropping the ball for the past few years as well. even though many of our own humpers religiously play it... it still hasn't been the promised experience. it's just been an upgrade year in and year out. a roster update and a bug fix.
EA has to change their dev policy and actually bring out quality titles that are focused on the market that they already have and increase upon it, rather than focus on the business model of other publishers and copy it with their games. It just hurts them and it hurts us.
I'm sure bf4 will be great. Dice can't really disappoint its fans at this point. But other than that i'm worried that EA will push out franchises to show love for its fans but they'll somehow ruin it. The way sony changed over the past 3 years, EA should follow suit.
Restart the brand. Go back to quality. And they'll get their fans back. But if they don't do that... we won't see the EA we remembered long ago and it'll die out.

For what it's worth, it doesn't matter what people think about EA or that they were voted the worst company. What matters is people keep buying their shit. They care about dollars, not reputation.

If they stop:
- butchering our beloved franchises, turning them into F2P garbage and mainstream one-button-awesomeness
-destroying our rights with the nazi online DRM bullshit
-putting completely out of the place multi(market)player (that affects the campaign) into the few SP games left just because of the easy money from the tardo generation
-releasing unfinished games just because they have to sell gazillion of post-release DLCs
-betraying the fans with false promises and abysmal customer support
then maybe I'll start lovin..err not hating them again.
I'll probably end up buying BF4 from el cheapo anyway though, using some kind of exploit like the Mexican/Indian Origin..since despite everything, DICE can still make decent multiplayer games. They just chose the wrong publisher :<

origin, pandemic, criterion, bullfrog, bioware, westwood, maxis... are you talking about those and somehow trying to blame their demise on themselves, frank?

Job requirements for upper management at EA: deluded, completely disconnected of what the customer actually wants, greedy, capable of putting blame on anyone else, but himself, master manipulator.

Hahah, you've just described the typical CEO . Though the EA-related ones indeed have an edge over the colleagues when it comes to pure evilness.
They're carefully selected by an alien algorithm whose origin is still unknown, but it appears to be influenced by a pure Apollyonic force that gains intensity as the amount of pissed off people and destroyed franchises rises
